LSU?
Could easily be a 4 loss team before it’s over

Explain to me why you think you should be #1? UT has a stronger strength of schedule, better true road game win against LSU which is better than anyone UGA has played on the road. And you barely beat Kent State and Missouri.

First, you tell me where I said Tennessee shouldn’t be #1?

They can’t be ranked ahead of Tennessee with their schedule, but the fact they act “disrespected” proves they don’t get SoS. I bet a lot of Georgia posters here are casuals bc they want to be ranked #1 bc can’t tell us why they deserve it. They are only posting about how it’s mean.
I have no issue with UT being #1. I like it in fact.
But as to why someone might rank UGA #1... it comes down less to who they beat and more to how they beat them. Both Oregon and Bama are outside the top 5 and in the top 10.
UT beat Bama by 3.
UGA beat Oregon by 46.
Some voters view margin as an important facet. Others ignore it entirely and treat a 3 point win the same as a 46 point win.
For example, UGA's lowest ranking in any of the polls listed in the Massey composite is #6 in the "VERN" rankings. This formula only counts wins and losses, not margin.
The Kirkpatrick ratings rely heavily on margin of victory or loss. It's about the scores predicting future games. It has UGA at 1, Bama at 3 and UT at 4. UT's close wins hurt them in that ranking.
So... pick your poison.
Here's the massey composite if you want to take a look:

19th in SoS vs 75th in SoS

Do think SOS really means anything at this point in the season? Pitt was ranked 18th when Tennessee beat them in overtime. LSU was unranked, now they’re 15th.

So you're telling us that being ranked #3 is disrespectful? Talk about arrogant.

I’m saying that when a lower ranked team plays a higher ranked team, incentives are most likely with the lower ranked team. You watch much football?

It looks like it means something to the Playoff Committee.

Maybe, but at this point it’s a flawed measurement. TCU SOS is 17, Clemson’s is 36
What’s up with that?

So your premise is week 1 Oregon is equal to Bama currently?
It has been years since the PAC was relevant, but you’re touting your win over them as mattering or meaningful, in week 1 none the less

Nope, I don’t know what a Bama Oregon matchup would look like. Neither do you.
I know Bama has probably the best players according to recruiting rankings.
However we know that doesn’t always result in the best team. Do you think Bama is the same team they’ve been in the last 3 or 4 years? I don’t. Barely beat a 3 loss Texas team, and almost lost to a average A&M team. They couldn’t have play a worse game against Tennessee (2 turnovers, 17 penalties) and were a missed FG from winning on the road.
