Yeah, but Auburn only scored 7 against Arkansas so Arkansas must have a defense that is more impressive than LSU.

Depends on the metric.

They are better than a Vandy/UK/AU, but are a 2nd tier SEC team.

Ok.

I'll buy that.

Was there a point you were getting at? because you started off saying "but", as though you were presenting a counterpoint.

If we're going on actual resume and wins, and only giving minimal attention to perception and the eye test this is what it should be:

1. SCar
2. Bama
3. UF
4. MSU
5. LSU
6. TAMU
7. UGA
8. Vandy
9. Arky
10. UT
11. OM
12. Mizzou
13. UK
14. Auburn

I can justify all of this. Eg, why is Arky at 9? They have an SEC win. The teams below them do not.

If that is the case, shouldn't Arkansas be ahead of LSU since we beat the same opponent by more while said opponent has two weeks to prepare for us?

You lost to UL-M.

That would be the reason he has you down that far. You guys have been more impressive than LSU, all considered.

Yes, we played the best from Louisiana, New Jersey, and Alabama.

Note also that I said minimal consideration to the eye test/perception. That means it still factors, just in a smaller dose.

A true, merit-only power rankings could not have Bama ahead of SCar or UF. They have more quality wins.

You haven't played LSU yet.

I will concede a team like Arkansas is better than LSU. But not UL-M.

I wasn't impressed. I give them credit no doubt, but the offense for lsu self destructed again like they did last week and against auburn.

We're a lot better, but I'll wait for us to at least make it to the SEC Championship game, if not win it outright, before declaring that we're "back." Our compass looks good, Muschamp is surprising me and seems to have grown as a coach, but our offense still needs time to develop. With that said, it's not like we haven't had very good teams in the past that were carried by our D.

Say what you want about LSU's offense or whatever, but I do love the way we've been playing in the second half. Those adjustments, and subsequent dominance, show that if nothing else we have great coaching and a very tough, conditioned team, physically and mentally. Doing it once would be one thing, but it's become our MO over the course of the season. After Meyer's last years, even when we were winning, we always felt soft. It's nice to see a coach getting rid of that shite.

The Gators didn't open up the playbook this week. They didn't want to show too much on film for next weeks opponent.
