I don’t think he is making it about himself. People relate to famous people. They invest their time to watching him and get a sense of getting to know someone through this. Stuff like this can make people really evaluate their priorities in life and let’s be real it’s makes them sad. Hell I’m sad because of this. I don’t think that I’m making it about myself for it? It’s simply just wanting no one to go through stuff like this. Why are y’all to judge how this makes people feel?

The man cares about the welfare of another human. Nothing but good comes from this level of caring sentiment. Leave the man (Mullensboys) alone. If nothing else, just don't say anything.

If he would have said something along the lines of “I’ve been up all night thinking about it” then I would agree.
“I spent all night on the phone with people in the know” comes off as being a pompous arse. “I’m very important and in the know but I’m going to gatekeep information”.

I am hoping that you get the best sleep ever when this all concludes. You deserve the best sleep because you will need to have the energy to deal with this in the days and weeks to come. I went through this with my wife in 2019 10 days in CCU another 3 in Hospice .
It breaks a family mentality and physically.
Praying for the family because it happened suddenly that no one really had time say bye.
This time of year before Christmas is also extremely hard.

The negative reaction to the OP is absolutely mystifying to me. All the guy is saying is that he was up all night trying to get information and the news isn't good and many people are upset.
