Dale, in layman's terms...

LaTech is the favorite.
Based on What? Southern Miss beat them this year and are favored to beat them today.

Southern Miss has more road victories than any team in the nation and also has an RPI or 30.
Only one team in the history of RPI has been left out with an RPI that low. Missouri State at 21 in 2006.
Southern Miss has more victories than them right now and if they beat La Tech today I feel they are in regardless.

Being the #1 seed in the CUSA tourney while USM is the #4.
They play today, the loser will have to sweat out a NIT bid, neither has a resume to get them an at-large bid.

You lost all credibility with this comment.
There was a 4 way tie for 1st in CUSA. USM MTSU LA Tech and Tulsa all were 13-3.
So if Southern Miss wins today and loses tomorrow you say they are out at 28-6???
And a team like Xavier or Providence with 12 or 13 losses is in over them???

It doesn't matter if there was a tie, LaTech being the one seed means even if they lose today they are guaranteed a spot in the NIT, USM, not so much.

It will depend in part to what happens in the other conference tourneys.
It is a realistic scenario.

It isn't just about wins/losses it is also about who you beat and who you lost too...

A tourney.
NCAAs isn't impossible, NIT most likely.

Hofstra and Air Force also got left out with a RPI of 30.
I like the Golden Eagles resume and hope they get a serious look if they dont get the auto bid. The committee always seems to throw in a suprise. My suprise prediction would be BYU out and USM in.

USM played no one on their schedule.
Their only game against a tourney lock was against Louisville who beat them 69-38.
LaTech at least has one good win over OU, but was blown out by OkST.
Each has a bad loss on the road.
The committee isn't going to reward a team with an at-large bid for manipulating the RPI through scheduling while playing no one during the year.

St. Bonaventure beat St. Louis.
St. Louis has had a bad losing stretch to end the season.

Ehh they have before, they are somewhat inconsistent. From what I've read they seem to be big on non conf schedule this year though. I dont think the CUSA will get multiple bids.
Winner of Dayton/St Joes will be in decent shape. Providence and Minnesota can improve their resume tonight.

Ohio St. leads Nebraska early.
St. Joes leads Dayton.
Pitt is up on UNC.
Florida blows out Mizzou 72-49.

By Lunardi's logic so far the loser has to fall to at best the first 4 out list.
If it's St.Joes they will become a tourney lock with a loss, Dayton in the last 4 in, according to Lunardi.

Obvious push off, no call, St. Joes hits 3 to go up by 2 with 15 secs left.
Dayton tries for a 3 misses. Fouls, St. Joes his 1/2 FTs to go up by 3 with .7 second left.
Sam the Eagle has his St. Joes team beat Dayton.
