It just felt like a lot of his success was built on the WRs and the offense, not necessarily him elevating the team personally.

Looks to me all the WR’s didn’t do nothing before Hooker. Even players like McCoy and Payton that transferred in, all of sudden started putting up yards with hooker than prior.

runner-up divisional finish and win against a UVA squad that may not win a game has the Vols contingent talking about their coach’s legacy.

Vols went 11-2 last year and runner up in
the division. Those are facts.
Beating UVA squad and covering the spread is what was expected. UT done exactly what was expected to start Heupels 3rd season. What Heupel has done at UT, not many could do that in that same time span. But let’s take a closer look at Heupel compared to the best in the business.

Through first 49 games as HC:
Kirby- 38-11
Heupel- 35-14
Dabo- 30-19
Saban- 28-20-1
Kiffin- 32-17
Harbough- 34-15
Frost- 28-21

No other coach on that list had to deal with the circumstances Heupel had to face when he got to UT. Heupel is building something special and just in a short period he has done great. UT is still dealing with scholarship restrictions and still on probation. If you think Heupel isn’t a good coach then you are safely mistaken.

I’m sure they did, but Missouri isn’t in the same class to land someone like a Manning.

Yeah that's probably true.

Mizzou is always on the lookout for Tee Martin type qbs anyway. We want someone who will at least give us a shot at a championship someday.

It was always going to be Texas, so that Manning and his partners could get their new hotel in Austin. That is how you NIL

I think Milton is going to have a great year, but he isn't nearly as shifty as Hendon and holds on to the ball a little longer and doesn't feel the pressure as well. Hooker was a very special player back there. He should still have a monster season though.

He should be. Didn't you guys pay more for Nico that they did for Manning-lite?

Whatever they paid was too much... but I thought Nico was in the A&M NIL range for stupid money.
And I'd take Criswell over either of them.

I’m surprised you’re just burning Nicos RS so quickly. Maybe they don’t trust him for bigger games.

Didn’t watch but if true, good on Sark for playing the best kid and not giving into fan pressure.

Arch will transfer if he doesn’t play

(Fast forward to 2025)

The plan has always been for Arch to REDSHIRT and then SIT THIRD ON THE DEPTH CHART for two years BECAUSE HE SUCKS AND WAS ONLY ELEVATED DUE TO HIS NAME! That was always the plan.
