FWIW, gump or not, that's horse shite that the kid got cuffed for that. I don't give a shite if he gets off, he shouldn't have had to go through it in the first place.

FWIW I have been around the kid a couple of times, strikes me as a pretty good kid, not the trouble maker kind. His only mistake was not going to Auburn.

I am willing to bet that the "victim" in this case put Johnson under citizen's arrest and then the officer on scene placed him in custody. In this type of case, the officer is not the arresting party the victim is. The officer just books in Johnson.
