Catholics don't go to "church". We go to "mass".

I am now pulling for Saban and the Tide against Notre Dame.

Saban's work here is complete.

The conquistador has conquered all at last.

Are you doubting that Nick Saban is a "man of character"?

Let's start with the fact that you claim Saban isn't religious when you don't even know him. The guy goes to mass every Sunday and he has mass said before every football game. That tells me the man is religious, he just doesn't flaunt it the way some others do.

ETA: Maybe this is a good sign for Bama. Bear was 0-4 against Notre Dame. With a Catholic Yankee at the helm, Bama may finally beat the Domers.

We beat Notre Dame in 1987 at Legion Field.

Nick Saban is 3-0 against Notre Dame.

They're playing Notre Dame. Saban explained it pretty well by explaining what Notre Dame football meant to him growing up Catholic at the time he did. I guess that means nothing to people who weren't alive prior to 1980 or don't remember when Notre Dame football was last relevant.

It was a question about the meaning of Alabama and Notre Dame football on the game as a whole. He talked about how he followed Alabama and Notre Dame as a kid growing up in West Virginia.

What "was a question"?

Not following you.

Saban was quoted but the question he was asked was not in the article.

It was a question asked by one of the Alabama beat writers during his press conference earlier this week. I don't remember the exact wording, but essentially he was asked about how he viewed Alabama and Notre Dame growing up.

Why do some LSU fans think that is a flame? I don't give a shite if he sucked in the NFL. That hasn't stopped him from having success at Alabama.

Ah.

So the article I linked just ran with the story from there.

Got it. Thanks for the context.

I actually enjoyed the article. I like reading about the human side of the Nicktator.

Now, as a Catholic, I'm even more neutral about this game. I just want to be entertained. Gonna be hard to top this year's SECCG though.

Going to church every Sunday is great, but it's also how you live your life every day!

Like not stepping over an injured player counts a lot more than just showing up for mass on Sunday.

Jason Taylor said it didn't happen quite like it was described by the Auburn grad. But you can keep on believing that rumor if it'll help you stay angry with him.

If one act condemns a person, we are all screwed. I guess his charity wouldn't be a good example about living his daily life?
