Am I the only person who’s still mind boggled by this event?

Shitty alter is shitty.

Pretty sure Kirby lost to Vandy and Georgia Tech in his first season.

Losing to Vandy 5 years in a row isn’t as bad to losing to La Monroe.

Pretty sure Bammers will take a loss to Louisiana Monroe in exchange for multiple national championships.

They'd probably rather that over wandering 40 years in the no championship wilderness.

Saban lost to UAB his first season at LSU. That be what he do before building a powerhouse.

Hell yeah. You guys just won a title. Makes the loss to Troy seem like nothing now doesn’t?

Plus we beat the frick out of ULM in 2015. So that helps

When a coach takes over a mess there's no telling who he might lose to that first season as he trys to change the culture & losing attitude. As he's waiting to get his own players in there.

True. That 2007 squad still had too much Shula in them.

Yep the Shulites.Saban ran off a few & said he probably should have ran off a few more but he wanted to be somewhat competitive which surprisingly they were against most teams.Even pulled a few upsets but still loss 6games.

That 2007 team was toxic in some ways but were also mere minutes away from true greatness. We were 6-2 and ranked in the Top 20 when we faced LSU in Tuscaloosa. At one point, very late into the game, we had a 34-27 lead and LSU faced a 4th down. If we had actually stopped them, we might have won the game and taken control of the SEC West. Alas, the ball was caught and the receiver scored a TD on the play. JPW herp-derps on the ensuing drive, LSU scores again to take the lead, and our team's mental toughness is completely drained for the remainder of the season.

We go from 6-2 and fighting with LSU for control of the SEC West to 6-6 and unranked - with a loss to Louisiana Monroe as extra icing on the cake.
