This is a cop out and makes no sense. So Tenn would be competitive with LSU or Auburn at this time?

We beat Auburn last year.

Is Tennessee Alabama really any bigger than the games like Florida-Auburn that got broken up by expansion?

Why does Tennessee want to play Saban’s Alabama teams every year, anyway?

Alabama and Florida had only played 26 times prior to expansion in 1992. They’ve actually played more frequently since expansion.

Now Alabama and Georgia was broken up.

Yeah I know that. I am meaning yearly at this time. IMO probably not. If auburn didn't miss wide open targets all game last year and JG not be so lucky with them 50/50 jump balls he was throwing

In the last eight years Auburn and LSU have beaten Bama I think once combined. So yeah, I would rather play Auburn or LSU anyday.

In 20 years Saban will have retired and Bama will be the new Tennessee. Most or all Tide fans will have jumped ship saying they weren't ever fans to begin with. Sort of like how Bulls fans jumped ship after Jordan left. Or when Cleveland fans left after LeBron left.

What are you basing this on?

You must not understand the level of administrative incompetence it would take for that to happen.

I doubt they continue this level of dominance, but their administration is competent and supportive enough to avoid a nosedive.

So there is no way they make a bad hire?

Outside of Alabama, nobody even considers the Alabama vs TN game a rivalry.

How many votes does it take for people to consider a game a rivalry? Plurality? Majority? ...3? I mean..oregon and ore st have a rivalry or dont they? What about Cornell and Colgate...is their rivalry status revoked because no one outside of their fanbases even cares? I would bet that nationally you say " egg bowl" and no one would have a clue...so your little "rivalry" status [denied] as far as I can tell...a rivalry only requiers two consenting teams and their fanbases...ie. UCF UConn is not a rivalry (note: made up trophy is not a requirement of a rivalry)

Lol I guess not! Lol bama fans think they are going to win forever, and to think that way is so sad. Lol you can't win forever. One day Saban is going to leave and then reality is going to set in because there's only one Saban so whoever takes over won't be able to do what he did. When you're as spoiled of a fan base as Bama fans are it's hard to not take it for granted. If you recall a Bama fan called into the Pual Finbaum show because he wanted Saban fired for losing one game. One Game! Lol that's so pathetic.

"Is it crazy to think 2020 you pull the trigger even if Saban is doing well?”

Finebaum erupted with laughter, but Jason wasn't finished making his outlandish point.

“I’m serious. Don’t even laugh. It’s not funny,” Jason strikes back. “This is the deal. Saban is getting negatively recruited against because of his age, right? Has it ever gone down in history, for someone at the top of his game, as an athletic director you go with a guy who’s already proven himself in another conference and he’s hot and got 30 years left? I’m not taking that risk.”

Finebaum made sure he heard everything correctly.

“So you’re saying, like in two years, the university should say, ‘Listen, we need to bring in Dabo Swinney,’” Finebaum asked.

“I’m absolutely saying that,” Jason said.
