Nick losing his touch, looking ahead to MS. State almost cost his team

As Nick Saban ages, perhaps he is not a sharp as he used to be. The golden rule of football is to never look past your current opponent to the one looming over the horizon.
Only scoring 29 points on a team as inadequate as LSU seems to be is a failure for him. Honestly, I think he was looking ahead to State and had kind of already put this LSU game on the back burner.
State, no matter the score, always plays Alabama a tough, physical game, not soft and fluffy on the lines like LSU.
You can't really hold it against Saban though, Ms. State is going to be a much more physical game than LSU.

State definitely will be the best defense Alabama has played so far

There front 7 is legit.
How is their secondary? Hopefully not as elite as Delpit and Williams.

I think he missed my subtle dig at a certain fanbase too.

No doubt about it. They will be much more like a real football team than LSU.
Hell, MSU's defense is better than Alabama's.

Well done! Soft and fluffy was a nice touch!

Our secondary has gotten better each week but is that enough to slow down Bama? Probably not. It is what it is.

You're not doing this right, at all. Decent angle but you lack any and all subtlety. And then you were so proud of yourself you just come right out and blow your load here when you feared anyone might have missed what you were doing. Decent idea, C minus on execution. Please try again. Alas, it seems patience and subtlety have no room in 2018.

We have a new coaching staff, the defense has gotten better each week ahead of the offense. I think Moorhead has toned it down somewhat as to not complicate things for Fitz. Nick is more comfortable in certain things and he's been throwing the ball on a dime lately. Of course, the receivers are finally running good routes which has also helped him a lot.
We won't beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa, I just hope to make it somewhat respectable for poll purposes. I want a decent bowl in his first year.

That was about as subtle as LSU holding the entire game.

Statistically MSU is better on d but LSU was able to score 19 on them. 4 turnovers played a big part in that. I would think Bama could score well more than 19 points but I bet they play a conservative game plan.
