There is tailgating all the way from Baum Stadium to way past the stadium with concentrations of people in parkinglots and the gardens. Tailgating in fayetteville isn't bad but it would be much better if they would move it to the old main lawn. Would be a cool tradition to start. In a few decades we would have the grove outdown easily. Just start a policy and let people leave their stuff till like 5 am and encourage them to spend some time on dickson while they wait for traffic to clear out.

The Gardens needs a monorail linking it to the stadium.

Old Main lawn sounds good in theory, but there are just a lot of problems with it as a tailgating location. It starts out elevated from the surrounding streets and goes uphill. Don't forget this retaining wall. The whole damned thing is uphill from every direction. That's why Old Main was built there. Its the top of campus.

The walk from the stadium back to Old Main lawn qualifies as a hike with about a 200 ft elevation change over a very short period of time.

The hills make for purty views, but they kind of wreck tailgating options.

exactly. Why do we want to be on the low points. Leave that for the mouth breathers our conference foes bring in. We should be at the pinnacle and encourage people to have to stay around. It could just start out as an option and let it or the gardens develop into the dominant spot.

Here's a pic of a vehicle driving up Maple Hill a block from the stadium. This shows you the type of steepness we are dealing with. You get it? ITS frickING STEEP.

The problem is that the stadium is at the bottom of a ravine. I have hiked that hill more times than I can count, and drunker than piss. Its not pleasant, especially as I get older.

Also, when they knock down Barnhill and finish the Indoor football facility you'll be able to finally tailgate on the Southside of the stadium for the first time ever. Now the old practice fields have been moved and planted farther south.

I believe the master plan is for some parking below and an elevated plaza wrapping the south side of the stadium. That would be good for people-flow, but I could also see it being great for tailgating. Where Barnhill currently sits needs to be the street entrance to a massive underground parking structure. I think someday it will be.

I'm not a fan of the walk either but to be honest it would be a cool option. If it doesn't take off then you just let people forget it was an option. If it takes off we finally have a cool shady area to tailgate in as a fanbase.

There is no f'n way I'd make it up that hill after tailgating...NO f'n way. Ya'll need shuttles or a ski lift or something.

I love the rutted sidewalks/path that goes up and down those mountains.

One of the problems for tailgating by the stadium is it's hilly as frick. Both of those new spots are grassy areas that are pretty steep slopes.

Can't pull your rig and all your electronics and grilling gear up to your spot, park, and get down.

All of the parking close to the stadium is dominated by the gray hairs and their grandfathered way of life that did not include tailgating.

Tailgating is a phenomenon that is kind of exclusive to the under age 45 fans. I don't like using port-a-potties, I'm not a get there at 8:30 for a 6pm game guy. I'll usually roll up a couple hours before kick off, hop around and visit diff. friends and make some new ones, and go to the game and hit the bars afterwards.

I used to park off Dickson, work my way to the stadium pre-gaming, and then be back on Dickson after the game and close to my truck.

I like what they're doing because tailgating has been a pretty big pain in the arse in F-ville with the very little parking that's actually by the stadium.

Are you taking the 45min flight from Houston up to watch y'all lose this year?

That's literally my favorite connecting flight out of XNA. Those little jets get you to Houston in as much time as the prop planes get you to DFW.

They've needed to open up Old Main Lawn for many years and it would be better than Ole Miss.

It would have Arkansas fans everywhere, so no it wouldn't.

hogparking.com just west of the stadium is the only way to go. cable hookups, bathrooms, trim everywhere it's the only way to go.

Not even mad. Tailgating in Fayetteville may be the worst in the SEC.

not sure if this is a troll attempt. Fayetteville tailgating is awesome, it's just kind of a cluster f* for people that don't have a spot rented or season pass (poor people). if you are a vistor or don't have a spot idk where you are supposed to tailgate, i guess just grab a grassy patch somewhere and make do.

It may not be the worst, but it's definitely the most difficult.

I tailgated on "Victory Hill East" (or whatever SunHog calls it) for the three years during school and while it's a great location, setting up and taking down were a huge bitch. In fact, tailgating in Fayetteville, in general, is a huge bitch, for the reasons folks have stated in this thread.

It's uphill during at least one portion of your trek to the stadium. If you off-campus, it's either a massive hike, or you're a good 20 minute walk away. It's just not ideal. With that said, if you don't mind the hassle, it's still fun.

Also, SunHog, you have an enormous hard on for those mountains, huh?

NWA scenery is great, and the weather is typically wonderful for tailgating. I like the hilly set up in Fayetteville.

With that said, the numbers do lack a bit there.

I've also noticed at Jerryworld that A&M fans tend to dominate the stadium lots. I don't know about the offsite lots as I can't see them, but Arky fans just haven't been big tailgaters in Lots 10 and 11.

Arky's natural scenery is better in the mountains, but I'll take our sprawling greenspace on West Campus, Spence Park, Duncan Field and Lot 50 over the Arky setup from a logistical standpoint.
