On the other hand, it gets up to 100+ in Missouri throughout July and August, but we have the added bonus of humidity.

Is that pebble design still in an end-zone area though?

If you are referring to the rock 'M', then yes it is still there. A lot of Mizzou fans would/will be furious when it gets replaced with permanent seating. I personally think it looks bush league, but it has been there forever.

Idk what year this is, but it's an old arse picture.

t gets waaayyyy hotter in Georgia/Alabama

Granted, I've never been to Missouri, but I find it hard to imagine they have the same triple digit temps AND ungodly humidity that the deep south does.

ETA: Why are we debating/arguing about temperatures exactly?

Yeah, Rock "M", pebble design, whatever Y'all need more seats in that stadium IMO and the fans would have to get over it (if that's what y'all do). I agree though, I think it looks bush league.

It does get surprisingly hot here in the summer. When I first moved up here I thought it would be no big deal because I was used to wearing a suit to work in downtown Atlanta in July which is hell on earth but it shocked me at how bad the summer actually was. Although from what I understand, last summer was one of their hottest in a long, long time so my opinion could be slightly skewed until I have a greater sample.

We're arguing whether or not Missouri has the proper fall temperatures conducive to putting in an all-black field instead of the normal green.

"Pebble Design"

From what I've read it will not be removed but the hill will be moved in, with potential to close in the horseshoe at some point if extra seating is needed to get close to 90k

"South endzone makeover with boxes at the top, for both coaches and premium seats.

East stands with boxes to match the west, along with new brick to again match the west. Seating on top of the boxes as well.

New big screens on in the south endzone.

Hill moved closer to the field. What about the space left behind the hill? If its moved closer, wouldn't there be more to work with behind it around the jumbo? at some point."

From another board this is pretty much the summary of the stadium upgrade plans

Was that from Tigerboard?

I wasn't aware stadium renovation/expansion plans were so far along.

There is no way that doesnt get spray painted Crimson and white after Bamas first visit. They are known for vandalism so yall should probably just put seats ina nd make money.

They get painted every year, so the Bammers wouldn't be doing much harm to them.

But if it's an excuse to get more permanent seating in, deal.

Were you in the South during the summer of 07'. Ungodly temperatures/humidity AND the drought? That was an AWFUL summer.

Um, didn't the NCAA recently make a rule that said no "color" fields bc of Boise's atrocious field color?

Yes that was an absolutely miserable summer. I was seriously debating packing up and moving back to NWA at that point in time because I thought we were going to run out of water.

I'm not sure. I was they would because while I love watching Boise play, I can't stand to look at their shimmering blue field. It looks absolutely horrible.

AUnite,

You'd be surprised. I've lived in North Carolina, spent a long month in New Orleans, and plenty of time in Florida. I can tell you with certainty that Missouri gets as hot as the Southeast.

Do we have as many triple digit days as y'all? I don't know. Does it get as humid as Louisiana? Probably not. But that's relative anyhow.

Point is, much of July and August Missouri is close to or is triple digits with high humidity. You'd be surprised.

Cheshire is 100 percent correct.

PowerMizzou actually, it looks like there were actual artist renderings at the STL town hall with AD Alden last night. I'm picturing the East side of the stadium to look a lot like Arky's stadium with boxes inbetween the two decks. That would be a good thing, I was very impressed with Arky's stadium when I went down for a few games last year, I sat in the South Stadium loge box and it was a great time and nice stadium.

Do you understand how hot it gets in Missouri?

I smell a troll, but I'll play on.

Average August High Temperature in Mcallen, Texas (right next door to Hidalgo): 97.

Average August High Temperature in Columbia, Missouri: 87

Average annual humidity in Mcallen: 77%

Average annual humidity in Columbia: 73.7%

Missouri is just too far north to really experience summer.

I have a lot of family who live in Texas, and while it can get very hot, it's usually a dry heat.

That's true for the western part of the state, eastern side, not so much. You gotta get past the Balcones Fault and Hill Country before it gets dry. The further west you go, the drier it gets.

Oh nice, I don't keep my PM subscription up in the off-season generally, but considering how well recruiting has gone so far for 2013, I might reactivate early.

Yup, it definitely was miserable. Weren't they predicting ATL would run out of water at some point? My memory is a little fuzzy....I just remember AL, GA, and FL all bitching about some lake.

I'm almost positive there is a rule against colored fields now bc of Boise. I can't watch them play, their field color gives me a damn migraine.

I'm going to have to research this now

Nope.

In 2011 "Springfield and Joplin, MO experienced 8 and 19 days, respectively, of triple digit heat."

Austin, Texas in 2011 had 90 days of triple digit temperatures and 27 consecutive days of triple digit.

Yep, I believe we got under 90 days left of viable water supply at one point. It was pretty nerve wracking at the time and then you had the big deal about the Corps having to release a ton of water downstream every day from the lake because of some endangered mollusk down in Florida that they were legally to protect. There were a lot of people pissed off at that because that was a lot of water that the city could use.

Between the water crisis and the gas shortage the next summer there were a lot of good times to be had in Atlanta those years.
