1. The demand for suites and additional donor seating has increased considerably in the last few years.

2. We also have one of, if not the largest student section in the country...and the administration values that and is committed (thus far) to keeping it that way.

1 and 2 have been in conflict for a while now.

I trust that 400,000,000 isn't being "wasted" as implied here.

Why? It is part of our endowment...

87,000 is a lot different than 103,000. As you get bigger, it becomes progressively harder to fill each seat

What you don't understand is, even in lean years, A&M fans routinely fill Kyle Field. Demand has been going nowhere but up with the growth of the student body, alumni base, and now moving to the nation's premier football conference, there's no choice but to expand.

It is a result of nothing more than TX sitting on a bunch of minerals. It isn't a reflection of its alumni contributions or corporate donor base.

Moreover, Texas A&M University's Former Students have grown exponentially since the 1980s.

It would make zero sense to undergo a Kyle Field renovation project of this size without planning for the future.

The intelligence on this thread is pretty low.

I'm guessing every poster who's trashed the idea of renovating/expanding Kyle has never actually been to a game there, or even to College Station, and thinks that A&M is basically a glorified Mississippi State, and College Station is a glorified Starkville (no offense MSU fans).

I'd like to hear Florida fans chime in who actually attended the game a few weeks ago.

I must admit: I've been a surprised by the enmity directed towards TAMU on this board over the past few weeks. Many/most SEC folks have never before interacted with Texas A&M University/Aggies and know little to nothing about us. It's like it's become the cool thing to do so.

I'm sittin' back, smiling, and finding the unfolding story to be more than a little enjoyable.

Come visit us. It's all good.

Serious answer: 1995 might as well have been 1955. You wouldn't recognize the community, the school, the tailgating scene, the bars/restaurants, etc. It's ridiculous how much it's evolved.

Hating on A&M is the COOLEST

Imagine how much we'd be hated if we actually win some games

I like Texas A&M, can't wait for Auburn to play at College Station next year, I am going to do everything possible to get out that way. I won't be a student anymore though

Kyle Field has some of the most beautifully pristine grass you'll find anywhere. We are, after all, an Ag school.
