Bama is Bama and they will do what they do to get the talent. Saban just (looks the other way and) maximizes it.

Did he just not work hard enough at Michigan State???

Coach Saban did very well at Michigan State. He worked very hard and used the coaching lessons learned from Coach George Perles. Saban's time there was long ago, and, IMHO he has improved since then. I believe that he constantly thinks about how methods can be improved.

Which is exactly why he was a complete and utter failure in the NFL. That's parity. They hail this guy as a coaching God but that's only because he wins in the NCAA. The NFL is a different animal and I hope his "process" of failure in the league of men haunts him forever.

Saban could have done the same thing many other schools (Miami, Florida St., USC, Oklahoma, OSU, Michigan, Georgia, LSU, etc.) If it is about Bama why are there more coaches who have NOT won a championship than won one since the Bear left?

The OP was about Saban and Bama... not Saban and every other coach prior to his arrival at Bama. Could he have done the same thing as some of the schools you mention? Probably so.

But winning, and winning at such a high level, with a great coach, staff, facilities, has set Bama on a different level... NCAA or no NCAA. And as long as Saban stays around, continues to get great assistant coaches, he will be a threat to win the title most every year. His work ethic is relentless, his recruiting is even more relentless. In the end, most coaches, schools, etc., can't wake up each day and say they did more to beat their opponent yesterday. And that's why Saban is Saban and Bama is Bama.

You have distilled the matter perfectly

What is unfair about pursuing excellence and achieving it? How can excellence and the work ethic necessary to attain it be policed out of existence in order to make it "fair" for those schools and coaches who don't pursue it with Saban's zeal and skill?

If this line of argument for "fairness" is seriously considered it will not be long before we stop keeping score on Saturday and give everyone trophies.

Is that your official stance on that?

Yes.

You only can play 46 in an NFL game. So over half Bamas roster would have to sit.

Also , I'm 2013, when all the Bama could play in the NFL bs came up, a couple of articles were done to compare theme to the winless teams ( 4 at the time). The conclusion was that all 4 teams would beat Bama by 21 or more.

The league is just different than college. And to even make the argument , shows how little you know and how big of an ego you have!

I never made any statement that the NFL teams would lose to college teams.

You are responding to something else.
