OU just played 15 innings of softball against Florida, in those 15 innings OU had zero ABs while leading.

Thats some Sooner Magic right there.

That is a crazy stat right there..

Texas just played 19 innings against Stanford, Florida & Stanford..
and never trailed for even 1 pitch.. as they didn't allow any runs.. and only gave up 3 hits.. unfortunately, that streak won't continue..

That's what they call "Longhorn sorcery."

That girl needs to be on more gear to enable her to jump a little higher.

I started watching this game when you guys were up 4-2 in the 2nd. I just got this sick feeling after a while and couldn't keep watching. Something told me Florida wasn't going down this time.

Hesitantly pulled up this thread to see the bad news and needless to say I am in shock. Your team was lights-out. Best of luck next year, unless we meet again.

Reminder, the championship is played Wed/Thu/Fri at 7pm central on ESPN. No rest for the Sooners.

Which begs the question, who do they start? May? Maxwell could likely go again but thats risky with all her pitches today.

I would imagine you’d pitch May and then go elsewhere if she isn’t being productive. My guess is Maxwell will sit all game 1 with the exception of maybe a tight end of game if Gasso thinks bringing her in could be the difference. You could probably pitch her game 2 and 3 if necessary.

I think from a mental standpoint and given the pitching situation and rest, Texas has to take game 1. Don’t mistake that with me saying they will, but I think they absolutely have to take advantage. If they can go up 1-0 with the prospect of just needing to take one of the last two, that is the recipe. That being said both of these teams are too good to discount anything happening in terms of the dynamics and outcomes of these games.

I do believe Texas has looked most the part of the best team and champion this week, but it all starts over now, so they must continue on that line of performance.

You're the best softball program for a reason. Probably no other team could have won the game like you did.
You definitely have to be the favorite in the championship series but anything can happen I guess. I'm not going to lie I was rooting for Florida because I didn't want to have to face you in this series.

Its a gamble either way. You can’t throw game 1 away. May is a great picture but not at Maxwell level this year. I think last year May could pitch more loose knowing Jordy was able to come in if needed or get the next win. This year she is more in the spotlight.

If you don’t pitch Maxwell and lose game 1, then pitch Maxwell and win game 2 - then you would have to pitch Maxwell in game 3. At least in that scenario she gets one day rest now.

Otherwise if you start her Wed and gets roughed up now she’ll have to be ready to go if needed in game 2 or even 3. So the best gamble is rest her Wed and assume she has to go both Thu/Fri. And if can win Wed without her that helps too since Wed winners would be able to relieve if needed Thu/Fri.

This is Jayda ranking her own great home run robberies and it was her who hit the Homer to win today. Pretty cool

You can’t throw game 1 - of course not - but I think if for some reason Maxwell started game 1 and things went south for her and OU, that is worst case scenario. So I think we agree with what the strategy will be for OU.
