I can't understand why Cincy played the early game and UK had to play until after midnight. No advantage to being the top seed that I can see. Regarding start times, that is.

Ucla UAB with the first game? Usually they pick a good game for the early one. These double digit seed games are usually terrible and only watchable if close at the end. It's typically a 1 v 8 or 4 v 5
