I will say this, depending on how deep the NCAA digs, UT could get in to some trouble

Just spoke to a media source that I put a lot of faith in, even though he's a UT homer.

He said that Orgeron has employed this recruiting tactic at each of his previous coaching stops.

they will skate, just like FSU, USC, etc.

You say this as if your own team hasn't skated by

I'm sure we have some skeleton's but who doesn't. I thought there was a specific event that we skated out of. I see what you mean now.

You just want the gators to be in the same cheating category as UT. I understand that.

I believe there is a lot more shite that goes on behind closed doors at any school. It's a big business and like any business people will do what they have to, to be one top.

Don't they have some coaches leaving or rumored to be leaving? Pretty strange after only being there one season.

LSU needed to replace their assistant head coach/RB/recruiting coordinator Porter, now head coach at Memphis, and has hired away Frank Wilson from UT, effective Monday this week.

Yes. I think Lance Thompson may be looking to join Strong at Louisville, but it's just a rumor so far. The 2 that left isn't a suprise b/c Wilson accepted a better position and is going back home and Gran is also headed back to Florida where I believe he's from. Thompson may be offered a coordinator position...but who knows.

According to the ESPN Insider this is no big deal. It sounds bad to me, but they have a whole article dismissing it as minor at best.

You are so right. My solution for this whole mess wouldn't work because of the money involved.

ESPN Insider would be right.

Worst that could come from this is a secondary violation.

TN responds

quote:

University of Tennessee officials say they are "cooperating fully" with the NCAA in its investigation into some of the school's football recruiting practices.

In a statement released Wednesday Tennessee officials said they are concerned about "alleged activities" by members of a group called Orange Pride. The group provides campus tours and hosts prospective athletes and their families. The university says the group of "ambassadors" is instructed to follow school and NCAA guidelines in its orientation and training. 1

The New York Times reported on its Web site Wednesday the NCAA is probing the use of hostesses by Tennessee to attract top players. The university says appropriate action will be taken if NCAA guidelines were violated. 2

1. Plausible deniability
2. Someone gets thrown under the bus

The FSU music course scandal was laced with these almost on every page of their response.

After what happened in Colorado, I think this will be more than a minor/secondary.

I don't see probation, but I could see a small scholly loss.

I couldn't agree more. Does anyone know where to get a list of violations?
