I give up. Y’all just stay scared over nothing and keep freakingnout everyone done “pandemic” is deemed the next mass killer.
A few months from now coronavirus will be as talked about as is Ebola and the other huge pandemics. I’m just not buying into the hysteria

Jesus Christ it’s possible to think the virus is a threat but not going to cause the extinction of humans.

This is such a strange way of thinking though.
People hope what you said above happens because they took the steps necessary to make it that way.
It doesn't have to be thinking the world is over vs this is nothing

I am in a massive panic. I am late 50's with diabetes. My Mom is in her 80's. I have Aunts and Uncles in their 80's. With no cure, this is a death sentence for people in those categories. We had a death last week roughly 45 miles away. He was elderly, diagnosed, and dead two days later. People like you need to wake up and see what is going on. How many times in your life have you seen these steps being taken because of a virus? There is a reason for that...and it's people far more intelligent than either one of us are saying these steps are needed.

You’re loving the panic.... that’s pathetic.
Keep throwing gas on the match, if you get corona are you gonna try spreading it to get the numbers up?

My father is 60+ with Type 1 Diabetes as well - I am (as is my mom) extremely concerned.
I have zero concern about myself of even my wife and kids - the stats show that the odds of us getting deathly ill are very slim. If those same stats applied across all ages then this wouldn't be a thing - it would be talked about in the same way flu or walking pneumonia is discussed.

That’s the number I’m getting from American outlets. But if we go down the whole “ you really believe their number “ thing then we can pull shite right out of our asses; like it’s gonna kill over 500,000 Americans
That’s the number the communists gave. To equate them with American epidemiologists proves how out of touch you are.

Do you really believe their numbers? Really?
China absolutely lied. That said, you get denialists or people that believe weird shite on here because we're not exactly getting the truth either. We're getting propaganda from the administration, from the news, from the far left and far right and everywhere else in between. Why is shite closing/being cancelled/the national guard being called out while at the same time we're being told don't panic? It's not being explained by those in charge and in the absence of a believable explanation, conspiracy theories and every other kind of half-thought out theory will take hold.
These measures quite frankly seem idiotic in terms of what we've been told the death rate is. So someone needs to cut to the chase and tell everyone the truth - that while it may be mild for most it can easily wipe out 3-8 percent of the population if it goes full fledged and no one wants a repeat of the 1918 Spanish Flu that killed around 20-50 million worldwide people or *only* 3-5 percent of the world population. In the US, 675,000 people died. Given that our population is MUCH larger than it was in 1918 the numbers get nightmarish when applied nationwide and worldwide.
Beating around the bush is helping no one and the people who are panicky have already panicked.

Because of mass hysteria playing a role in it
Because people are getting deathly ill, and hospitals don’t have room for them, which naturally creates hysteria

There is a wide gulf in between these 2.

Yeah, the great sign is young people and early middle age are dealing with it great even when they get it for the most part, assuming they don't have one of the major conditions. Its when you start looking at 55+ it gets concerning and worrying.

Exactly - a mortality rate of less than 1% is still not great but it's certainly not panic territory.
A mortality rate of 8-15% is legitimately concerning. Especially when it applies to 20% of the population (51+ million people).
