Alabama still gets in if it’s a 6 team playoff. Tell me with a straight face that Ohio State or Wisconsin beats Alabama.

Okay. So they do.

And the straight face comment. Is that the metric?

For all we know, the CFP committee said that about each team.

"Okay, Frank. We're watching your face. Ohio State vs. Alabama."

...

"OH I SEE A SMILE! I SEE ONE. Ohio State's out!"

The equivalent of this in pro football is a wildcard team winning the Superbowl. It does happen sometimes

It's the equivalent of a wildcard team winning the super bowl if all if the division champions aren't in the playoffs.

In the current system they can't weigh conference championships heavily if they are going to weigh record and recent wins/losses more heavily (in some, undefined circumstances).

You've got to pick one or the other. If conference championships are most important you pick from OK, Clem, Georgia, OSU, and USC.

If Wins are most important you pick from OK, Clem, Georgia, Wisconsin, Bama, and UCF (while risking having the other teams forgo their conference championship game).

If it's a combination of the two.. you take OK, Clem, Georgia, and Wisconsin (since they at least won their division).
