I couldn't quite stereotype the Aggies. I couldn't put my finger on it. They weren't hillbillies or even rednecks. Then I realized it: They're hicks. Country, but not exactly redneck. Maybe even slightly more refined than what you might call a "redneck". But yea, they're hicks. Slightly sheltered and naive in an "aww shucks gee willikers" almost endearing kind of way. So there yea go.

Not a bad assessment. Now, I've am a born and raised Texan. Have been to all parts and know as much about this state as any Aggy. How they portray themselves as refined and educated is a mirage... they all want "us" to believe their entire living alumni base came from Houston or some such. It's simply not true but hey, it's their mission to appear they are something they are not. From Jefferson to Tyler to Lufkin to Diboll to BFE, an Aggy can be found. And he's driving his Ford truck with a minimum of 3 Aggy stickers on it, listening to Robert Earl Keen.

Hicks? Pretty much. Nice? Some of them. Pricks? Just like the rest of us. Unjustified entitlement? Off the chart.

Other dude made us sounds like Sarah Palin. She's hot for a Governor that's about all I can say about that, golly-gee.

A&M's education is pretty damn good, and I've never heard anyone promote the idea that Aggies are all from the big city. Actually, quite the opposite is true historically. Our school was built for the blue collar types to be able to go to college. Your view on A&M is twisted sir.

Plenty of hicks at A&M. And you're right that people are people wherever you go. We do have a culture that brings out the best in people, though, so I think that helps:

1) Aggies to do well in the real world, and
2) People like yourself drink the haterade. I'm surprised it took you this long to post on this Aggie-related thread.

My view isn't twisted at all. If you're admitting you're blue collar, we agree.

If you think you and yours will get very far with the Texag mentality you are "better" than the "hillbillies" of Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas or the swamp trash of Louisiana and Florida, you're wrong. Prepare yourselves now rather than later.

It's a massive state school w/ 50,000 students. We're a lot of things. I'd honestly never heard the idea that A&M projects itself as a bunch of Houstonites. That, to me, is twisted.

If I thought I was better than anyone from the SEC I wouldn't be on this board. People are people. I love A&M and football. SEC people love their schools and football too. We've probably got a lot more in common then people think. Texags was my 1st message board ever, so I'm partial to it. Texags as a whole is pretty pumped about the SEC move so I'm not sure where the Texag mentality of A&M being better than other people is coming from. That said, if you go onto an opponent's message board talking shite you're probably not going to receive a warm reception and you deserve whatever hell you get tossed your way.

That's possible. Here in Texas if you see someone wearing something A&M-related there's a 99% chance they either went to A&M or have an immediate family member that did.

I don't believe that. No offense. I just don't.

eta: As hard as A&M is becoming to get into y'all should probably drop that whole schtick or you will soon find yourself without much of a fan base in a generation or so.

Already did back in the early 90's.

Had no idea I couldn't wear my cap in the union. You would have thought I hit an old lady or something by the reactions I got.

Our student section gets "suck that tiger dick" out perfectly for the whole stadium to hear without those homo yell leaders

I'm not delusional ... I don't expect crap that's not gonna happen. But Bama hasn't always been great either. shite happens and you will receive your A&M beatings in due time.

Oh lord..., the "new ole miss" thinks they are going beat up SEC teams....

Also your 12th man sucked while LSU was skull fricking your team in the Cotton Bowl.

Let me be the first to explain this to you.

Thanks for the new tv market, no sit down and shut up.

I went to school there. I live here. I know what the hell I'm talking about in this situation. We don't have a shtick. We're too big to fit into one. There are people of all types that go to A&M.

Exactly. I'm not talking about going to A&M. Just the opposite. I'm just saying with as hard as A&M is becoming to get into, all the "Ag Tag" shite has got to come to an end or you will find yourself without a fan base. You can't continue to raise academic standards for acceptance and alienate those who don't/didn't go to A&M.

Not sure how you live your life but no competitor goes into a situation counting on losing. I'm counting on kicking y'all's asses.

The 12th Man is the student section. Students didn't get many tickets allotted to them for the Cotton Bowl, and I honestly don't even know where the student section was. LSU fans weren't any louder than the A&M fans in the Cotton Bowl, so with all that in mind consider me unscathed by your words, friendo.

We bring a bit more than that, but I'm sure you'll enjoy the increase in TV $$$ Texas will bring the conference.
