I agree. That is ridiculous. Ole Miss and Miss St. Should definitely be flipped.

So now you're saying it'd be an "upset" if State were to beat Ole Miss in Oxford? How can it be an "upset" if you're predicting it to happen already?

Just like the times that yall beat us in Starkville between 1998 and now, we will win because we have a little more talent and experience than Ole Miss does this year.

Just like the times? We beat you in Starkville exactly ONCE since 1998 and that was 2003 - Eli Manning's senior year. It wasn't a "little more talent and experience" that won that game.

How long have you been following State football? A season? Since last November?

Oh yeah, your best offensive and defensive players, respectively.

Yeah, you're right, we lost SOOOO much more.

Here's a hint: you can't knock an opponent for having lost their best offensive player when you're team did as well.

Of course, your points about McCluster, Shay, and the OL are valid. But you're applying a bit of a double standard here.

Other than that, we lost a shitty quarterback, a fullback (seriously, that's your argument?), and a receiver who only had 180 yards or so.

Ole Miss lost 2 NFL caliber offensive players in d-Mac and Hodge while we just lost Dixon.

2>1
backing my point. We do have a better play maker back in Chad Bumphis and a more experienced qb in Chris Relf in addition to a solid 2 year starter at te and 4 returning starting offensive linemen including all sec caliber ot Derek Sherrod

Your argument is too simplistic to be accurate. Look, I'm not saying we didn't lose important players on offense. I AM saying that what YOU lost was as important to State as what WE lost was to the Rebels.

Your argument is we lost Dixon and he was our entire offense. So Ole miss has more returning on offense than Mississippi State because of that.

Dude personally I feel it's gonna be a lot harder for y'all to replace McCluster than it will be for us to replace Dixon which we plan on doing by committee.

McCluster could break an 80 yd run on any play and also was yalls second leading receiver and could return kicks.

NO IT IS NOT!

My argument is a counter to your argument that Ole Miss lost more than State. YOU are completely misinterpreting what I'm saying.

5. Mississippi State 7-5 (3-5)
6. Ole Miss 7-5 (3-5)

so if my eyeball math is correct - sec west would be a cumulative 28-20 in conference play

which is pretty tough... because each of the six teams has five within division games and the cumulative record for the six teams has to be 15-15 from those games

what you are therefore predicting is the sec west goes 13 wins and 5 losses against the east... it could happen in theory but even tho the east is probably down this year it won't

Chaney wasn't even our best LB let alone best defensive player.

I think LSU wins against UNC even with Coach Miles.

Im just thinking that UNC's bad arse D-line will have a field day with LSU's O-Line and new RBs.

UNC may have a lot of those bad arse D-line players ineligible. They are in the shite pot. The NCAA is breathing down their necks.

Good lord is it going to take a crow bar to pry state fans off Relf's dick?

State fans were talking so much shite about Relf when they thought Tyler Russel was gonna come in and take over, but as soon as you find out Russel sucks everybody starts acting like Relf is the next vince young.

We lost our 2 biggest offensive play makers, but we also don't have Jevan "are you on my team? oh well you can have the ball anyway" Snead to deal with again this year.

Our QB will be better than Relf and Snead.

wanna have a friendly internet bet on this?

How many snaps has any of your QBs had in SEC games?

You dont walk into the starting QB job in the SEC and just put up numbers. there was a reason that Snead started over Stanley and Cotton last year, he was a lot better than them.

Chris Relf rushed for over 500yds and 5 TDs last season in only 9 games in limited duty, and also passed for 5 more Tds. He saw significant PT against Auburn, Arkansas, and Ole Miss. He will be a lot better than you think.

Cotton was RS'ed last year and Stanley didn't know the offense yet.

Snead was also a Junior to two Freshman. That has a lot to do with that.

Rushing yards for a quarterback isn't exactly what you're supposed to brag about. you know....passing the ball....would be a good bragging point for a quarterback.

In Mullen's offense rushing yards are a pretty big deal. All Relf will have to do is throw the deep ball well(he can) and be effecient to have an excellent season in 2010.

Ok my bad lets break down chris relf's stats for last year.

He threw 5 TD's last year and 3 INTs. 3 of those TD's were against Jackson State. The only other time he threw a TD was in the the last game against us in which he admitted he was throwing the ball to a completely different receiver...

The stats I'm looking at actually says he only rushed for 2 TD's and not 5. Again 1 was against Jackson State and the other was against us.

His highest completed passes against an SEC opponent is 5. The most pass attempts he has had in any game is 11.

His total completed passes is 22. Nathan stanley has completed 11 and has only played in 3 games, while Relf played in every game except 2 for you last year.

From what I'm reading he rushed for 500 yards and if you take out Jackson State and our meltdown game he rushed for 287 yards.

I'm still not seeing where your excitement about Relf is coming from. Every teams defense will not have the egg bowl meltdown that we had this year, and that was the only game besides the jackson state game that made him look good.
