I'd love for you to be right Scoop, but I'd have to give the nod to Clemson on this one. Hell, you never know though! Hope it's a good one!

Bama 'stopped' McFadden and Jones somewhat last year and they are better than Clemson's guys. Don't just hang that loss on Nutt, and even if you did, I don't think Bowden is better.

All that being said, I don't think if we lose, it will be to the run... The run may be a factor, put if they can pass on us, that will be the main reason we lose.

I guarantee that if SC would have gotten just one or 2 more wins during Tommy's tenure he would not be at Clemson right now.

well...occasional FSU wins vs daddy saved his butt too

Clemson is picked to win the ACC outright, I don't think Bama is the team that stands a chance of tripping them up.

What does Bama tripping up Clemson have anything to do with the ACC title??

He got hurt at the end of the game. Concussion (mild), if I recall correctly.

Also, I think Javier Arenas will pic one for 6. He will be good for 14 points in this game counting his punt return.

Hell we may win by 28, I forgot about him playing big-D

This think may get ugly for clemson!!

My prediction BAMA/Clemson
We will beat Clemson much like we did Tennessee last year.

I say BAMA by 21

Hope you aren't betting much more than a Coke. When St Nick was at LSU ,we played only two legit big boys to open the season: VPI in 2002 and Oregon State in 2004. The LSU team that played Virginia Tech to open the 2002 team was one of the sorriest, poorest prepared teams LSU has put out on a playing field. How we could spend an entire spring and fall camp to put that garbage out on the field still mistifies me.

Who knows, maybe Little Nickie is feeling some heat and will prepare better vs Clemson, but I wouldn't bet too much money giving 21 pts or 10,for that matter.

i've always thought of you as a decent bama poster on here, but that is a ludicrous prediction. you lost your best d lineman and didn't have much depth there last year, plus your lb corps is lacking as well. you guys might score a few tds, although losing your top 3 wideouts from last year will probably slow the passing game down, but you won't stop many running teams this year. expect clemson to chew up the clock and massive chunks of yards. damn did i mention you also lost your best db?

Big difference in 'winning' a game vs a very capable opponent--in Game One no less -- than predicting a walk in the park. Alabama may very well indeed win;I'm just saying hold off on any sizable wager with you giving Clemson and 20.

I don't think the score will be every high for either team. I say something like 21-14.

I would say that Scoop had a little crimson koolaid this morning.

I would be stunned if we win by 21. I think that it will be a tough game. Not a sure win by any means. I think that it would do a lot for us if we do win though.

I say if we win it will only be by a touchdown at most. Should be a fun game though.

At first, I could have counted this as a given loss. However, seeing what they've lost, I can see our Defense doing ok against their RB, as they will have to replace alot of O-line and while our D will be young, there is talent there.
As far as our Offense against them, I think if our new OC can help JPW, we will have the advantage in the passing game against them. I think our running is better than given credit for also. Terry Grant, started strong, and granted finished with a whimper, but we learned after the season he was suffering a sports hernia most of teh second half of the season. I think we've got a legit shot at winning this one. My opinion for what its worth.

Clemson returning and losing players:
Returning Starters on Offense (4)
James Davis (RB), Tyler Grisham (WR), Barry Richardson (OT), Akeem Robinson (TE)

Starters Lost of Offense (7)
Nathan Bennett (OG), Marion Dukes (OT), Dustin Fry (C), Roman Fry (OT), Thomas Hunter
(TE), Will Proctor (QB), Chansi Stuckey (WR),

Returning Starters on Defense (7)
Antonio Clay (LB), Chris Clemons (SAF), Michael Hamlin (SAF), Jock McKissic (DT), Phillip
Merling (DE), Dorrell Scott (DT), Nick Watkins (LB)

Starters Lost on Defense (4)
Gaines Adams (DE), Duane Coleman (CB), C.J. Gaddis (CB), Maurice Nelson (LB)

Returning Starters on Special Teams (0)
none

Starters Lost on Special Teams (2)
Cole Chason (P), Jad Dean (PK)
