I doubt he's trolling anyone; I think he seriously doesn't know what he wants to do. Trolling in this situation would be incredibly stupid.

Ole Miss has no leverage. What are they going to do? If they fire him and pay him off, he leaves for sure. He has all the options.
In the meantime, he is going to upset a lot of people after this is over. Two fan bases are going to be really pissed.
He has done a great job at Ole Miss. Is he the best coach in college football? Not right now he’s not.

My thought is why not string two strong programs along who have a coaching vacancy as NSD approaches. Kids aren’t committing to a school with no coach. It just allows for Ole Miss to position themselves to bring on more talent.

He isn't really stringing LSU and Florida along, programs rarely ever announce a coach prior to the end of the regular season. So he's causing all sorts of issues at Ole Miss to make Florida and LSU announce their coach at the same time they normally would?

So if/when LSU or UF announce a different coach than Lane Kiffin, will the loud majority of the fanbase be upset with the hire? Kiffin seems to be the most prominent coach for both schools.
Also take into account, only 1 transfer portal window now, in early January.

As much as I am enjoying this Kiffin stuff, I don't think he has actually "done" anything wrong (unless he stays at OM). All of this controversy is from fans and journalists and "insiders".

It will really just depend on who you ask. Some will melt, some will be indifferent, some don't even want Lane.
I just don't think this really "harms" LSU or UF, if anything, it's a major distraction for Ole Miss.

He should just lie in order to "squash rumors?" Ole Miss is the one trying to kick him out early
