i think its telling about ole miss fans that they are taking positives away from losing to jax state

Crazy as I am, I'm looking for good things to come from this. Ole Miss, once again, appears good but not great. Offense is there and the defense had a serious lapse. It was purely mental and this happens to everyone. Sooner a later a bigger school drops one that they shouldn't.

I think the issues can be corrected. We've got Tyrone Nix, who I don't foresee letting this happen again, at least not soon. The Tulane game will tell us something.

Keep a good attitude,

Go Rebels!

Exactly! It looked awful. I want the qb getting hit and I barely saw it.

My take from the game.

I'm not throwing the season away because of one massive fail. OP got it right that we are much better off at QB this year than last.

I was very impressed with the WR's.

Liked that we threw over the middle and to the TE's a few times. Austin's playbook mainly concentrated on sideline routes last year.

Our secondary will be very good next year. Just too much inexperience.

Sowell, Massie, Rishaw looked really good on OL. LG and Center did not.

Stanley is looking damned good as a QB in spite of supposed QB Killa

Some things I noticed that I DIDN'T like.....Nix's gameplan. We rarely blitzed and occasionally went 3-4 in inopportune times.

From what it looked like to me, we pulled a big lead and started trying new things in the 2nd quarter and really let off the gas. When the game got more "interesting", we just couldn't seem to get back into it emotionally and JSU was on pumped.

Last statement on the game.....No excuse. Can't blame anyone but Nutt and Nix. It looks more and more like Nix can't defend an option defense. that's a big problem.

The problem I don't see you guys addressing is how exactly this will affect the locker room and coaches in general. you can bet your arse of there was major finger pointing yesterday.

If what I saw out of 07 Bama post ULM disaster is any indication of how Ole Miss will react to yesterday afternoon, their fans might as well book their rooms in Shreveport and be prepared to cancel any time.

LSU- hell no we are damn pissed about winning the way we did last night
bama-no
auburn-no even they wouldn't like this
arky-no they fired a coach over losing to a team like this

miss state- maybe?

uf,uga,tenn,uscjr- all no
uk - maybe bc they just dont care
vandy- i guess could be ok with it

It's just one game guys, a tough loss no doubt but the season's not over, I think it will work out after conference play. Maybe something like this..

Conf. All
Jacksonville State 6-1 8-3
Ole Miss 6-1 8-3
Eastern Illinois 6-2 8-4
Tennessee Tech 6-5 7-5
Eastern Kentucky 5-3 5-6
Tennessee-Martin 4-4 5-6
Tennessee State 3-5 4-7
Austin Peay 3-5 4-7
Murray State 2-6 3-8
SE Missouri State 1-7 2-9

Obviously you lose in a tiebreaker because of the head to head loss but maybe they drop 2 instead of 1?

This, unfortunately, is what sets Ole Miss fans apart from the rest of the SEC. No team's fan, not even Vandy, would have watched their team lose to a 2nd level college team and feel they were good. Nobody.

But, I don't know if it's any worse than fans whose team beats a top 20 club, and is ready to fire the coach and write off the rest of the season.
