Bottom line is all conferences aren't equal. How many Big East flops do you need to see in the BCS to realize they haven't earned a thing by winning that conference?

Very simple
Conference champions from the SEC, PAC 12, Big 12, Big10, ACC.
Next year’s Big East will be a joke.
Go by basic power ratings, not much different as they do in LHSAA football.
Top seed gets the bye.
Game 1: #2 vs. #4
Game 2: #3 vs. #5
Game 3: #1 plays winner of game 2
Game 4: Winners of G1 & G3 square off.
We have a winner!
4 games can rotate between bowl games.

IMO, no more than a +1 is needed. 10 teams is going to make things too long and way excessive.
If you aren't in the conversation for the Top 4, then you didn't have a good enough season to be in the conversation for a national championship anyways, and giving you a reward for nothing more than above average just doesn't do much for me.
