If Chip Kelly is coaching college football next season it will much more likely be at UCLA than the hills of Tennessee.

Please show where, since desegregation, OM has had any period of "more than average" success that was not a result of cheating. You can use charts or pics, or just type in the years.

We'll wait.

ETA: I looked it up myself. Since that time, OM's glory days were under Billy Brewer. In 11 seasons, Brewer finished 11 games over .500. And went on probation twice

Same list has Gruden as leader. Fake news.

Mullen would be fantastic at Tennessee.

There is no evidence to support this statement.

Going undefeated against your rival is pretty, pretty compelling evidence

So Les miles has better odds? Not sure if that says more about Mullen or more about Tennessee

I was going to say the same thing.

I was just basing my opinion on ole miss being 9-7 vs msu since 2000, the overall record as a whole, and the two programs accomplishments all time, that's all. Not trying to start shite.

Record since 2000 is a random choice.

I mean, I can throw out random records too:

MSU is 13-12 against Ole Miss in the championship game era. That includes the horrible Croom years.

MSU is 5-3 against Ole Miss in the Dan Mullen era.

As far as overall records go, like I've said before, you are in pretty bad shape if all you have to crow about is accomplishments from the 50s and 60s.

I actually agree. By the time it would take Mullen to build the program they way he does, Tenn would be in another coaching search.

The best part of it all, is that while they cheated at SMU levels, they still were a step behind us.

He won't be going to another SEC school. If Jimbo Fisher leaves FSU, I would have legitimate concern about him going there.

You mean the flunkies who suck at handicapping ballgames? Some momo who's uncle is in the business, so he gets a job handicapping award shows and coaching searches

he's got a similar record against the top 25 as UT the last DECADE. A perfect match of mediocrity.

the only better program that OM has than state is their Thespian program.

Looks like that puts him tied for 6th or so. Just like UT in the SEC East.

No, Ole Miss needs Mullen at MSU. We enjoy MSU having a coach that is over paid because he is average, and average is all Mississippi State requires. Meanwhile, we will continue to try and be more than average. This time we won’t “cheat”, but at least we have ambition. Ole miss pays 5mil + to bring home NY6 trophies. Not sneak into a bowl game at 5-7 because of grades.

If he leaves State for Tennessee then this board will be fun for a few weeks . These State fans don’t seem to indef stand that they are a shitty football program and that coaches will leave for better jobs like Collins and their former AD Stricklin did . So far they have been lucky that nobody has wanted Mullen.

So why would he make a lateral move?

And State has been way better than UT the past decade

Florida has wanted Mullen three different times. Must suck to get turned down three times by the coach of a shitty football program who nobody else wants.
