Damian Williams will be #1 in the spring.

So many people think that MSU is going to return to being mostly irrelevant next season because Dak is leaving. I would say to those people that you don't know what you are talking about. If you are familiar with State, Fitzgerald (although I heard likes the white powder) is going to be a very, very good QB. Incredible touch on his deep passes and very good runner. Also, Staley, the two sport star, will also be good. Me personally, I expect Fitz to start next year. Looking at the schedule for next year, and with the recruiting class from last year getting playing time, I see at least 9 wins. My point is that State has a stable of Dak clones that may or may not pan out, but the days of 5-7, 6-6 are long gone in my opinion with Mullen staying. Just my thought for the day.

Man, if I could just go back in time to whatever BB I was hanging out on back in 2003 I am sure I could find a post JUST like yours. The only difference is it would be by Ole Miss fans and Dak's name would be replaced by Eli Manning and Fitzgerald's would be Spurlock.

Yes, we do know what we are talking about. A once in a generation QB is very hard to replace.

Dak has an 8, 7, 10, and 8 win season. I guess they still have a chance to get to 9 this year, but he's just as likely to finish his career going 1-4 on 9 win seasons.

That's a lot of words just to say that he actually does have a 9 win season.

And he's a lot more likely to finish his career going 2/4 on 9 win seasons than 1/4. Also, the only two years that he has started he will likely finish 2/2 on 9 win seasons.

Doesn't matter how many 4 and 5 * QBs you have in the pipeline. Replacing a very good QB that shoulder's a ton of the offense is hard to do.

Im a die hard state fan but i also understand the game of football And Everything that goes with it. I see 6 or 7 wins. No doubt , Fitz is good but Staley could pass up in the spring or fall . Staley has à higher ceiling than fitz. No matter who the starter is, they are not Dak . Players like Dak dont come around to often and esp at State. To be honest, What will really set the tone for next year will be how well can the Oline play. I think 7 wins and 3 SEC wins are realistic. Anything greater than that is overachieving. We will see the truth about mullen next year.

Yeah, obviously he isn't anything that can't be easily replaced. That's why you named your account after him (twice)

No. He will ultimately has to choose one or the other but if he sticks with football. He could be good. Wilson was a 2 sport athlete

Your coach is willing to take any job out there, obvious sign you are about to suck it up.

Or 2-0 as a full time starter? Not sure why you'd factor in the other seasons. Regardless, the OP is clearly an alter. Don't feed it.

I know this is an alter, but I do agree with some things. Fitzgerald is going to break some records Dak holds, BUT only if MSU keeps Mullen and Mullen can get an OL. Fitzgerald has more year left than Dak had when he got the start.

Without an OL, MSU may very well only win 6. If the OL issue is solved, they could top 3 in the SEC west.

These are the critical points. Without them, Fitzgerald will be no better than Relf.

I feel like Lefty Cam Newton will probably win the starting job next year.

Nah, not now that he decided to not focus on football full time.
