Football is won at the line of scrimmage MSU has the real deal on both sides of the ball, however lets see how the rest of the season plays out first.

with 55 carries for a 4.8 yards per carry isn't dominating. LSU's defense won the game.

Anything over 4 yards per carry against a quality defense is really good.

Right now, we'd just settle for over 2 yards per carry.

Over what was supposed to be a premier national D and the best defensive team Ole Miss has put up maybe ever? Watch the game and then tell me LSU did not control the LOS on both sides of the ball.

ETA: Our defensive was outstanding and is getting better every week.

Why has this turned into an LSU vs Ole Miss discussion. I know your attention spans are short but good lord. MSUs secondary vs The barn burners.

I was listening to sports commentators today on the radio. In the 2nd half against UK, both time UK got within 7 points of us it was a score against our 2nd string, and then the next time they got the ball we had the 1st string in and they went 3 and out.

All but 1 of their big drives came against our backups. Don't be fooled by looking at statistics without knowing how we subbed guys in. We do this every game when it's against a lesser opponent.

Oregon? Have we not seen that song and dance enough already? I'll tell you how it goes:

Oregon offense struggles against strong front 7. MSU puts up points. Game is over.

You are an idiot. Passing offenses have trouble against state because the quarterback is constantly hurried and is often playing from his arse.

Yea passing offenses have really struggled against that 108th ranked passing D. Kentucky couldn't pass at all on it. Strong argument. What elementary school are you enrolled in.

In defense of LSU's win over Ole Miss, I always thought the object of the game was to have one or more points than the opposition when the clock goes to 0:00.

I would take a 2-0 game with no yards at all on offense, so long as I was ahead at the end. Sure it is impressive to rack up a ton of yards and points, but if the other team can't score they cannot win.

You only put up 28 points on A&M. Think about that. YOU ONLY PUT UP 28 POINTS ON A&M and you think you can beat Mississippi State.

Because we are going to need those kids to have playing time against tougher opponents than Kentucky if we lose starters. The game outcome was never in question. In games State knows they have to step up in(Auburn A&M) our secondary steps up.

They have a legit shot in the conference because its run heavy and plays into their strength. But I believe they would have about 60 points hung on them by the Oregon and TCUs of the world. MSUs secondary is a frickin bobby Petrino adultery . Ole miss in my opinion can hold up to anyone. Yea LSU beat em, but obviously the game coulda gone either way. No one is passing on ole miss, and they won't see a physical run game like that again.

Er, no.

From my Sunday Morning QB on State:

7. First 5 drives yesterday:

1A Defense- 13 plays on 3 drives- 25 yards and a forced fumble
1B Defense- 17 plays on 2 drives- 146 yards and 10 points

I LOVE that we are building depth. Love, love, love it. I just wish we would do it 3-4 players subbed at a time. Not by entire unit.

Kentucky scored 7 points against State's 1st D. Mullen is playing a shite ton of back-ups this year because we have alot of Seniors and draftable Jr's. Mullen isnt going for style points- he's getting guys experience

Stats dont even remotely do our D justice. We didnt play our back-up D much against Auburn- they scored 23.
WE didnt play the back-up D much against A&M until we were up 48-17.

MSU would prison rape TCU. TCU's QB is much improved, but he would shite his pants against that front seven.

First off, LSU is still garbage.....now back to the subject at hand....in response to the state fans that are staying on topic, yea i understand his reasoning for subbin all those guys, but it feels like everytime he does it hes giving free points away. And a defensive coordinator who takes Bernadrik McKinney and Preston smith off the field needs to be admitted to a psychiatric facility for examination.
