This is kind of a double-edged sword for me. The worse it is for MSU typically means the best it is for Ole Miss......but damn, I don't want you guys to be THAT bad. Ole Miss beating a competitive MSU is a lot better than us beating an embarrassing MSU.
We will be as bad or worse than Auburn and South Carolina have been the past few years

If Rick Ray is smart he'll start referring to Ole Miss as The School up North and schedule a ton of SWAC teams. Win one against Ole Miss and he'll be around for atleast 4 years

That's the risk of hiring an assistant who doesn't have any HC experience. He doesn't have a track record to go by, so nothing he says to players or commits can really be backed up with evidence.
Our AD made a bad hire wanting to "Clean up" our program. We may have better kids with good attitudes and strong work ethic and good discipline, but if the other player ls are more talented we will still lose.

Hood must have got to use to Stans weak arse practices. He was stated saying last week, in Rays first practice or two, that "was the hardest workouts he's ever had"

Rick Ray = Ed Orgeron
At least when it comes to practice.

What does winning four in a row against Ole Miss get Mullen? I'll hang up and listen...

Word is that Hood isn't the only current player planning to transfer.
Sounds like coach Ray's hard work and discipline speech must have not gone over well with returning players.

I think he is more of a Croom, Orgeron could at least recruit.

Outside of that, another season filled with rumors of him going to other schools with him never being interviewed (because half of it is rumors Ole Miss starts anyway) and another disappointing year filled with preseason dreams of actually doing something besides beating Ole Miss.

Stan's fault.
I really don't care. We weren't going to make the NCAAt next year with Stans or Hood. Might as well flush the system out early.

Let's keep this to State's meteoric fall in basketball, not a flame fest about football/Merlins.

Better to get rid of them now than have them frick you down the road. Grant should have gotten rid of Tony Mitchell a long time before he did.

Then that's a good thing. Let him leave if he doesn't want to work hard.... players not working hard is why we could never get to the next level under Stans.
I will take a bad year or two if Ray can build a solid program with HIS recruits that are talented and want to work hard. There is going to be a transition period where the Stans recruits leave and Ray hasn't had time to get his guys in the program. This happens more times than not when coaches are replaced.
Remember the current players came to play for the former coach, not the new one. WE wanted an attitude change and our style of ball play changed so we hired a different type of coach and of course the current players won't like it. frick em, they can be replaced.
My fellow MSU fans need to patient... next year was going to be shitty anyways if we had kept Stans, so it is a good time to let a new coach build a program.
