I'm not even gonna pile on.

I'll be working on my golf game this Spring instead of paying attention to MSU baseball. I'll be back when the new coach is announced.

I think Cannizaro's head got a little too big and full of himself when he got a plum gig like MSU after no head coaching experience and not much time as an assistant.

I do think he would have been a solid head coach over time and once he got his recruiting classes in there.

That's what happens when you take a chance on assistants. It could go really well or it could go south quick and obviously Andy couldn't handle the new found fame he acquired. Had he sat and learned a little more from a veteran like PM at LSU he may have been better off in the long run. Cannizaro showed his true colors the way he acted in the super regional last year at the Box. Good riddance although I'm sure he will get a lower level job or another assistant gig as soon as all of this blows over.

Andy is Exhibit A for this. Took a tough situation last year and did as good a job as possible.
Fast forward to the Fall of 2017 and he's sitting alone in the 1st base dugout, texting and talking on his phone while nobody runs practice. That was a typical fall practice, if you believe some players.

I do hate it for the players and will never run them down

Winning 2 out of 3 would be a great first weekend for Vandy. A little concerned about 16 true freshmen playing their first SEC series on the road at State.

Not a huge number of good choices in the SEC this season. It could have been worse than a State program in semi-disarray, all things considered.

You're probably right. Idk how old he is but be a young head coach at a major program could give you the big head. I haven't heard any names but I heard big names are interested. I wouldn't mind bring some of our old assistants home. They seem to do wonders at Kentucky and Auburn.
