Yes they got in. But as it stands now SIDs everywhere are asking themselves why they are scheduling them.

There’s little benefit to playing them outside of a traditional rivalry if you are in a legitimate conference.

If A&M had a buyout clause, I would hope they pay the bill to not play them. Same with most other teams.

In fact entire conferences could collide to ensure this occurs to force them to a conference.

It’s going to happen if the playoffs continue this way.

All that matters is they have 2 losses or less. They’ll be in.

Why are they not joining the ACC permanently? Beat nobody, place 1st or 2nd, get automatic playoff spot.

Nah, they could schedule 12 HBCUs and still get in with a loss.

If SOS doesn’t matter then ND is in even better shape if no good teams want to schedule them. All they need is just enough of an interesting schedule that they can still recruit well.

They get 5 guaranteed ACC games so the rest can all be directional schools and academies and the committee won’t care.

FYI, they are thinking the same thing. Why schedule good P5 teams when you can just add in more cupcakes.

They will keep their rival games no problems as always.

Notre Dame is the king of getting by without doing anything. They wouldn't even play in bowl games until they became official games.
