Comparison- La Tech had a Boise type season and didn't play in a bowl. Houston had one the year before and made a minor bowl. But Boise gets BCS talk nearly every season for the last half decade

Not quite.

1. Louisiana Tech deliberately refused to play in the bowl they were offered because they didn't want to lower themselves to playing Louisiana-Monroe. Also, 3-losses is not a "Boise type season". Had Louisiana Tech gone unbeaten, they would have had BCS consideration...then again, they needed to acquire a DEFENSE first.

2. 2011 Houston would have gone to a BCS bowl had they beat Southern Miss in the CUSA title game. 13-0 Houston would have been top 4 and would have met TWO of the criteria for a forced bid: Top 4 in BCS and Top 12 in BCS for a non-AQ school.

The only non-AQ school to go to a BCS bowl that didn't go unbeaten was Northern Illinois in 2012. They went 12-1.

Arkansas....has not won a conference championship since 1989 and from 1990-2012 has had a winning record in only 12 of 23 seasons.

I still go with VA Tech and their 1-28(might be more losses) record against top 5 teams. Hell they even lost to Kansas in a BCS game. Their only BCS win was against Cincy.

Ignoring all of the different statistical approaches people have shared on here, the team that FEELS the most overrated is Virginia Tech. They flat out do not win big games.

Why the hell did we play so many of those games in BR?

Because Tiger Stadium has been one of the biggest and best college football venues since it was built in 1924. From about 1936 though 1966 LSU and Tulane were competing for the largest seating capacity in the SEC. As one would expand to exceed the other, the other would follow suit.

Neyland Stadium didn't exceed TS's capacity until 1972.

Kyle field sucked arse, and A&M could make WAY more money playing in a real football stadium. In the 50s and 60s Kyle Field's seating capacity was @ 40,000 compared to Tiger Stadium's 68,000.

The same is true for Ole Miss during the 50s/60s. Johnny Vaught wanted to play in Tiger Stadium due to the revenue he could generate. From 1950-1969 14 of 21 games were playerd in Baton Rouge, 3 in Oxford, 3 in Jackson and one in NOLA.

They are a joke of a football team. Hell they even lost to James Madison just a couple years ago.

Agreed. The best thing about them is they return so many players from last year's team.

Florida state had 11 players drafted.. They are loaded with talent

and what do they have to show for it? I'm all for recognizing that part of their struggle has been the injury bug but come on.
