It is not about the coaches, it is about the QBs in this league over the last 10 years.
In the West you only had:
Cam
JFF
Wallace
Dak
Mallett
Marshall
Stidham
Saban lost to 5 of those 7 and Wallace twice.

Alabama could always schedule UAB, Troy or South Alabama. If the need for 1-AA is there, go for Samford,Jax State, Alabama A&M or Alabama State.
But Nick would rather sign off on New Mexico State, Citadel, Chattanooga (which amazingly UT-Knoxville played UT-Chatta Saturday) and other misfits and act like a tool at his press conferences.
Ohio State can play in state teams,Tennessee can,Georgia can, Oklahoma can, but somehow the Mighty Tide can't.

I think he is afraid to lose the sidewalk fans that also root for the other teams. Big money in apparel and merchandise from them.

yea,you go to The Summit or Galeria and there are tons of stores with UAB and South Alabama merchandise.

Let us make sure what you are doing. You are complaining about the most successful college football team om Div 1.
OK........

Not talking about them buying their own merchandise, talking about losing those who buy Bama merchandise. You have seen that at the Mall I’m sure.

A lot of people in Alabama graduate from one school and pull for Alabama in athletics. Even when their school plays Alabama, they pull for Alabama over their school. So I doubt that there would be a significant drop in sales.

I'm talking about Saban whining about his OOC schedule.
But if that makes you
, go for it.

Coach Saban would like to schedule harder teams, but they refuse to play Alabama.

What part of wanting quality games do you not understand?

If Saban wants to ride the "nobody wants to play us" you honestly don't think games with those team wouldn't generate more interest than New Mexico State or Western Carolina?
What don't you understand?

But those sidewalk fans might show up in BDS wearing the other teams colors. Nicky wouldn’t like that.

No, they wouldn't draw up more interest unless you mean fans of those teams.
Talking about quality teams and you name off G5 teams.

If Alabama played UAB or Troy, nobody in the country would give a damn outside of maybe Birmingham talk radio.
