Yea I was in Orlando and Penn st fans are way more obnoxious than I imagined. I guess cuz Jo pa is so adorable.

that's how it is, and always will be... and that's because Alabama fans are the truest kind of fan that exist. perhaps the most desperate to win... perhaps a lot of things. but we love and appreciate winning as much OR more than any other fanbase in the nation. and i'd put everything i own on that statement.

we needed this NC this last year man. truly needed it. and to be honest, we could use one good more NC before Saban leaves. long as he hits one more, i think we'll feel validated and content for a solid 10 years as a fanbase. 2 more wouldn't hurt though. ;)

I am seriously asking the question because no one ever expounds on Bama fans delusion. Furthermore, I`ve seen Bama fans who dared to suggest that we should be able to compete with the very best of the SEC as delusional by rival fans. It`s as if rival fans are suggesting our natural place in the pecking order of SEC programs is with USCe and Miss State and we`re delusional to expect better. Posting youtube videos of the nutty fringe Bama fans doesn`t represent the whole fanbase although I know that idea is popular on the internet

we really are bad about it when our team sucks man. not so much intelligent people like our fans on this board (i say that knowing we have a few baboons for fans here...) but if you just talk to a run of the mill bama fan in Tuscaloosa, (ie the ones going to the games) then you're gonna get some severe delusion during the times we suck. it's a psychological defense mechanism to get you through the rough times. and to be straight up honest, it's turns out to be pretty healthy for us as LONG as we eventually get back to the top for a bit.
it sucked to be delusional (i admit, i was one) LIKE in 2005, when Shula seemed to have us resurrected.. but deep down, i knew better than to believe.
i think the delusional tag is warranted. just not now. that kinda make sense Govt Tide?

Ask any SEC fan. Bama fans are just "plum crazy". They literally believe that Alabama is in the bible and that it says that bammer shall reign over college football till the end of time. (ok, obviously injecting some sarcasm).
But hey, why would everyone call bama delusional if it wasn't true? You are not an opposing fan. It is easy to see why an Alabama fan wouldn't see anything wrong with another fan(or see how that guy is a delusional 'neck).
Look, my point is that you're probably not going to ever understand why people call your fanbase delusional. And i'm not going to go on all night trying to explain it to you either. Ya'll just ARE!!

Hate to upset any of you, but the fans of every school in the SEC (with the exception of vandy) are all pretty equally obnoxious. Only with different colored shirts.

IF you were talking to me... then you don't know me well. i never said i told you so... and it's documented after the NC game that Bama fans were NOT overly obnoxious AFTER we had won it all. SURE there were a few people that put it out there in people's faces... but the entire board gave Bama fans props for how well we accepted the championship and how gracefully we won.
one thing is for SURE about Bama fans... we can have class after a win (say whatever you want about a stupid rammer jammer.. it's just a song)... but the bottom line, is that Bama fans are truly gracious winners by comparison to SOME schools... in my humble honest opinion. we CAN be bad losers, but that's really only when we are down and suck and HATE being bad.
if we got beat by a worthy team, and we know we've done a good job and did our best.. then i think we can accept it well.
Bama fans love football. We love GOOD football. we can NOT stand to lose when we shouldn't lose. that's our weakness.

Well said but I think its fair to say their is some more obnoxious than others. LSU is definitely at or near the top of obnoxious.

I understand your point pro but I still somewhat disagree. I didn`t sense Bama fans expecting SEC title runs when we were so down but then again I don`t judge our fanbase on the lunatic fringe in our fanbase either. I try to give rival fanbases the benefit of the doubt of not judging their entire fanbase on their loonies.
