Arkansas under petrino finished just as high as y'all last year
Third in the west.
And they had the run before that with nutt. Arkansas has sustained more recent success than ATM imo

I'm not really sure how you can say that considering that A&M, in our first SEC season, matched Arkansas' best record and final ranking in their time in this conference. Additionally, USC is coming off a better three year stretch than you guys have had in a quarter century.
You have never gone 7-1 in the SEC.
We have won the west 3 times.
Carolina 1, Ms. State 1
Kentucky, aggy, mizzou, vandy, and ole miss* 0 times combined.

Technically we finished 2nd in 2010, third in 2011.
First in '95, '98, and '06. Arkansas was the first team outside of the Bama to represent the west.
Ford, Nutt, and Petrino have all had Arkansas competing at one time or another, that is consistency, not being a new team having a good year, or competing in a down division only.

That was my point. In 2011, in their 20th SEC season, Arkansas finished 11-2 (6-2 SEC) and finished #5 with a cotton bowl victory.
A&M matched that scenario EXACTLY, plus a Heisman winner, six months after joining the SEC. Yet Dale wants us to believe that it is logical to think Arkansas has a better shot at consistently competing. We did in less than a year what it took Arkansas two decades to accomplish and we're the ones who should be more concerned?
Aight.

Our resources are virtually unmatched in this league. But as some have pointed out, we've rarely capitalized.

And yet, everyone is talking A&M and USCe but no one is saying Arkansas. Odd.

Really? Why do you lose money then?
I have trouble believing you are better funded than Arkansas. Are they?

Get back to me when you win the west, once.
You were in the big12 for how long? won the south how many times?
Half the time we've been in the SEC were were coached by Nutt by your time frame, you think he had us maximized in our ability to compete?
But "Dennis Franchione" is a valid excuse for aggy failure.

Their Athletic Department is as well run as Arkansas'.
We have several donors within a 20 minute drive from campus that can cut a check themselves to pay for something if it would guarantee success.
It isn't how it works. Look at Tennessee and their resources vs results.
Carolina and aggy are the flavor of the month, Auburn went from 8-0 to 0-8 in the SEC in a two year span...

Yeah, if you wanna prop up an 8-5 season just because you went to the title game go for it.
Let's not act like you were going to the title game with 1-2 losses. You lost at least three games every year you went.

We've been in this conference for one season and were a FG away from winning the West. Your comparison isn't even worthy of being called invalid.

Last time we went we were 7-1 in the SEC, 10-2 overall.
The time before we won it with a 6-2 record.
OOC losses do not matter in regards to winning the division and SEC, those games don't count.

Let's drop the façade: 2011 was your best team in the SEC. You know it, I know it and everyone on this board knows it. LSU and Bama weren't both juggernauts when you were going to the title game with 3-5 losses.
The only other teams even comparable was the one-dimensional 2006 team and the 2010 team that lost more games and finished lower.
Nobody at A&M or anywhere else is jealous of 30 point blowout losses in the title game after losing three or four games.

It wasn't.

Auburn and LSU were both 11 win teams the last time we went.
But, aggy has shown when there is two juggernauts in their division, the can win it 1 time out of 15 years.

They are however indicative of the quality of the team.
An 11-2 team in the modern SEC is better than an 8-5 team in the 90s or a 10-4 team in 2006. Period. You of course cannot admit this because it destroys this tangent you're on, but we all know it to be true.

duh, i am tired of hearing this big six crap. texas is bigger than the whole sec.

The 2006 team was a better team than 2010 or 2011, the coaching was better in 2010 and 2011, the 1998 team was probably better than all four of them.

This is happening

Darren McFadden and friends (with special guest appearences by Felix Jones and Mitch fricking Mustain) were not better than your 2011 squad.

arkie was the best in 2010. they almost beat bama that year. they got stomped the next year!

It will take years before you even make it to the sec championship game. Simply making the game is hard.
