I was sitting in the midst of the Ole Miss faithful for the "replay" in 2007. They already didn't like the fact that I had cadged tickets from a season ticket holder. Guy in front of me had made several remarks that I must have memorized the Bama roster blah blah blah. I said during the replay delay "It isn't a catch, that was 4th down and this game is over". Only time I've ever felt I might have to fight my way out and I have been to games at LSU, UT, AU etc.

Every Iron Bowl in Birmingham walking to and from the game through the neighborhood around the stadium. Damn, I still have nightmares from that.

Starkville, right after David Palmer got a DUI. Woman next to us got clocked with a liquor bottle. Entire stadium was chanting D..U..I...

2006 Auburn. It's the only game I've been to where I would describe the majority of the fans I interacted with as "hateful."

This Thread has lots of Ole Miss and Miss State has the most hostile crowds in the SEC! Is this true? I know TT is the most redneckish/trashy crowds in the Big 12. Is this the same in the SEC with both Miss schools?

Ole Miss because I didn't wear pink pants and a bow tie!! Funny part is Ole Miss has two fan bases. One preppy pink wearing group then the group that still says the south will rise again group.
Wearing conferdate hat. When I get yelled at from them I just shake my head. It is awful going to Oxford.
I wear same outfit every game home and away khakis pants and a differentl MSU adidas polo.
I'm sure Starkille is bad when Ole Miss comes. Every fanbase has dumb people. I know we have our share.

Every rival fanbase is going to catch hell one way or the other when they visit the others campus. I've never been to a rivalry game on the road, so I don't know what it is like personally.

For me it was 2003 Ole Miss and it's not close.
2004 UGA - there was a serious axe to grind after their 2 losses to LSU in 2003. I go to UGA games regularly with some friends around here and have an MBA from there. It was surreal to be treated so poorly after the number of times I've been. Granted, I'm usually not wearing purple and gold to UGA games, but...

LSU-Florida at the 2006 SEC basketball tourny. The student sections were separated by like 3 feet.

Tenner after the Stoernover game. Only time I really feared for my safety at a game. Walking back to the car we had shite thrown at us and at least 5 times had someone get in my face and try to get me to fight. Didn't seem to matter that I had my wife, her sister, and two 9 & 10 year old kids with me. All this and they WON the fricking game. Will never go back to Neyland again.

Miami 2003 in the Orange Bowl.
I think I can say this is the only time I actually feared for my safety. Before the game, straight thugs getting up in my face talking trash. They would step in front of you and would try to stop you from walking around them.
Once in the stadium, it wasn't too bad because I had seats in the vistor's section but there were still Canes around us. Florida jumped up big early by about 3 touchdowns and Miami eventually came back. Chris Leak threw an interception at about the 5 yd line with a 1:30 left and all hell broke loose. I mean brawls in the stands breaking out everywhere. Then on the way out the Orange Bowl had those tiny ramps that were cage like. People still fighting and shoving each other. I went home with blood all over my shirt that night. I'm just glad it wasn't mine.
