In the board’s opinion which is the most difficult matchup this Saturday. Hyatt vs Uga cb’s/safeties or Bowers vs Tn Lb’s/ safeties?

VOLS OL vs Georgia’s front will be what decides this fixture imo

Bowers is a different animal man.

On the flip side, the way Tennessee runs their bunch super wide near the sideline creates so much space for the defense to have to defend that it makes it difficult to disguise anything or double Hyatt. They make you choose. If you lineup to defend the bunch with numbers then they just run up the middle where you have only 5 (maybe 6) guys. If you commit to the box with 7 guys then they throw to space.

UGA has the best chance of any team in the country to beat them because, imo, the only way to do it is to completely control the LOS with your DL. That way you can commit the bodies to defend the pass and they can't run because they cant get past the LOS.

Problem is when teams get lazy and play zone, man up and make them beat our 5 star dbs. Better than busted plays.

UT having 45 second drives should allow UGA to grind UTs defense into a pulp.

We can score fast or slow. Hell we have 2 te's who can score from 80 yards out and a qb who has a 65 yard td run.

Easy answer. It has absolutely nothing ... nothing ... to do with any individual player.

The biggest question to be answered this weekend is Tenner's refusal to let Georgia substitute after first downs. Every defense in the country loves to fiddle with personnel, and signal in a million different adjustments. Tenner makes you line up and play with what you got.

Is Georgia, as a defensive concept, OK with just lining up and playing to win man on man ? If so, they'll slow that offense down. If they're not ... they won't.

I know their are many factors involved in this game. Few games are won by individual battles. I do think these two have the ability to be a big part of the outcome of this game

I think that UT's Oline will hold up.

I think that UGA's secondary vs UT's WRs is the toughest matchup.

But like someone else said, Bowers is a matchup nightmare for pretty much any team.

OK ... then here's a matchup to watch. Tennessee loves to pull their tackles. Yes, their tackles. Go watch the film. When they run left, it's almost always behind a pulling right tackle. And the other way around.

The matchup to watch is those tackles, and how Georgia's LBs read them. Because if that tackle pulls ... the opposite LB must either come straight up, then immediately lateral, to pursue that back as shallow as possible ... or immediately drop and go lateral to find and angle.

Its a clever thing Tenner does with that. Because the LB on the opposite side, where the play is coming, has no chance to read that action at all.
