Obsessed with loving the fact that Georgia can't keep Tennessee out of their mouths? Maybe.

Silly Texas fans. Rankings mean nothing early on in the SEC because we don't play cupcakes all year!

I have great respect for Alabama's program and they are the clear-cut number 1 program in college football history, but right now Alabama fans are the most delusional fanbase imo.

Obviously not all Bama fans, but way too many have convinced themselves that everything will just be business as usual moving forward and Bama will just magically continue to be the team to beat in the SEC, despite losing the greatest coach in history.

Just because we expect great things form the Alabama program does not make us delusional. The results speak for themselves.

This is not the first time Alabama has had the GOAT in college football, yet Alabama almost hired Bobby Bowden in 1987 (President Thomas thank you - look up what happened and why he did not come to Alabama (still mad about that)).

Alabama hired its second GOAT with Coach Saban. I fully expect Alabama wo find another in the near future. Alabama has only had 2 decades where it did not win at least 1 NC (50's and 80's) starting in the 1920's.

Auburn fan base no doubt. They seriously think they are a national power and they are not even in the top half of the SEC. They want immediate results and its just not going to happen. But they never learn. Their blind cult mentality helps them a lot.

What makes a fanbase delusional

This. Typically and realistically, it means having unfounded and unrealistic expectations.

On the Rant it means you are bragging too loudly and too much, no matter how good you are.

Lol you can't win the SEC unless you are in the SEC. Bless your heart....you really are out of touch with reality.

Tennessee. The only universally disliked SEC fanbase.

In fairness, I think several of the more vocal and obnoxious Tennessee fans are alters with 1 or 2 being true Vol fans. Every fan base has their share of loud and obnoxious posters, though.

To be fair, SideTaint, only the LSU fans (very few) from your list who predicted an undefeated season have been proven wrong thus far.

Most of that list predicted 1-3 losses. Not nearly as delusional as you apparently want it to seem.

Texas has won this argument hands down.

Stop and think about what you are saying, though.

1. Do they have a chance of playing in the SECCG?
2. Do they have a chance of going to the playoffs?
3. Do they have a shot at winning 1 or more playoff games?
4. Do they have a shot at winning a National Championship?

I would say realistically.....yes to all of these. So, how is it delusional for their fans to say these things?
Brash? Yes. Delusional? Hardly.

I would say you are a moron. Every fan base is delusional including Georgia but only one insists on talking down to everyone

Oh, rally? Let's check back here in January and see who's most delusional. Probably the bad drivers who think they can win 3 out of 4.

I mean, is it unrealistic to think Georgia could win a title this year? Answer honestly. Is it likely? No. I don't think it is ever likely to think you will win it, but you can say without a doubt some teams are in the conversation. And if those teams do no win it, it does not mean it was unrealistic to say they had a good chance at it.

I think some people need to take a good long hard look at what delusional means.

de·lu·sion·al
[d?'lo?oZH(?)n?l]
adjective

characterized by or holding false beliefs or judgments about external reality that are held despite incontrovertible evidence to the contrary, as a symptom of serious mental illness

Do you honestly believe it is beyond reality that Georgia could win the National Championship?

How about Texas? Alabama? Tennessee? Ohio State? Yes, even Ole Miss? Some are more likely to win it, but I wouldn't say any fan of these teams is delusional for thinking their team could win it.

Not true. Look at my definition from the dictionary of what delusional means. It is irksome when a fan base talks down to others, but that does not make it delusional.

ETA
I mean, you just called me a moron. Does that qualify as talking down to me? Does it qualify you as being delusional?

No, it qualifies me for being accurate and you refusing to accept reality.
