Johnny "football" is awful, but the Aggies should have someone on their team with a terrible nickname, it just makes sense

Johnny Football easily. Sounds fruity. I kinda liked Honey Badger.

Only people that should say it are fans. Don't need media buying into it.

This is the real source of everyone's frustration.

It's not that non-ags dislike the name in itself. It's that nicknames by which players are universally referred are reserved only for the best (e.g. honeybadger, VY, Megatron, King James, etc.).

The Rant is having a difficult time coming to terms with Johnny Football's place as one of the best.

Exhibit B.

Bandits here is hoping to put Johnny Football and his loyal Ags in their place. He's hoping with an LSU win, the Johnny Football moniker will fade--and the legend will end before it really begins.

But it won't, dear Bandits. It won't fade. And I'm so happy that you have the opportunity to watch your team play a once-in-a-generation player. Good for LSU nation.

Johnny Football in a landslide. Who thought of this to begin with?

Honey Badger, while over-played, was at least original and the youtube video is classic.

Johnny Football is completely lame and unoriginal. Johnny Manziel is an excellent young QB, loaded with talent and has a bright future. You'd think his fans could come up with something just a little original if they wanted to nickname him. And adding "fricking Football" really makes it a manly name.

Ahh, the hell with it. I guess it is the best a bunch of emotionally stunted 12 year old girl retards could come up with.

Not a clue.
It came with him to Texas A&M.
Far be it from us to disrespect his name.
So ... JFF it is.

Johnny Football, it's just so DBag. At least TM has personality and the awesome video that started it all.

The old timer Hog fans tried telling us that A&M is the most arrogant and annoying fanbase in Texas, they are right because A2M doesn't have anything to back up their shite talking.

They both suck, but I am currently more sick of hearing 'Belldozer' every 15 minutes on ESPN.

Who's shite talking?
Certainly not me.
We've got nuthin'--football wise--on which to hang our hat as of late.
No worries. Ags know our place in the pecking order.
For now.

Well Honey Badger is off getting stoned somewhere, JFF is about to continue to hit the rest of the SEC in the following weeks. So JFF in a landslide. If I weren't an Aggie I would freaking hate that nickname and would dismiss the guy until he beat my team.

BTW, he got the nickname in HS before he came to A&M. Essentially he was far more of a freak in HS than at A&M and was a real entertainment spectacle. I can't imagine HS kids trying to stop him and how much running around he did. The guy is just sheer entertainment and a playmaker and thus the nickname.

The name is definitely catching fire with sportswriters as well so get used to it. Johnny is only a Freshman halfway through that first year. He also is not a prototypical pro QB so he may stay 4 years so you might as well settle in for the long haul. If Manziel goes off on LSU this weekend it will get out of control.
