His resume shows he doesn’t stay anywhere much longer than a couple years. If he is so good why is he job hopping so much.
Dude. Alabama goes through OC's, DC's, and every other coach on their roster like water. Does that mean they are good, or not very good?
Look at it this way...if he was not good, would all those places want him?

Monken seriously has everyone twisting and grasping at straws trying to spin it as anything but a monster hire for UGA. I love it.

Why would he turn down promotions?

You were speaking about his total career. Do you really not see a pattern of promotions?

Most recently two pro teams, one year term each, then takes college. No that’s definitely not a pattern of promotion.

Both HCs fired. Maybe he’s seeking stability for a couple of years? Maybe you are right and he sucks and the people who have given him jobs, promoting him or are now saying it’s a good hire are all wrong.

You sure about that? Try again Cletus.

Here's the real breakdown. Looks about average for a football coach.
1993–1999 Eastern Michigan 7 years
2000–2001 Louisiana Tech 2 years
2002–2004 Oklahoma State 3 years
2005–2006 LSU 2 years
2007–2010 Jacksonville Jaguars 4 years
2011–2012 Oklahoma State 2 years
2013–2015 Southern Miss 3 years
2016–2018 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 3 years
2019 Cleveland Browns 1 year
2020–present Georgia (OC)

That’s not even correct.
Start from the beginning and work forward.

You were hoping uga didn’t get a transfer to keep auburn from getting over the hump. Now you are even less optimistic with the new OC.
No, I was thinking Fromm would stay another year and UGA would breeze thru the East again. He would be the top returning QB in the SEC. I just see another program banking on the next great thing. In this case I didn't see anyone going after Monken, and the NFL thrives on retreads. Makes you wonder.

But once Fromm left, and coley was still our OC, you really got your hopes up. Kirby squashed that glimmer of hope you had.

It doesn't matter who the OC is in SEC, it is all about the QB. Leach might change that, but I have my doubts. Until the WF reject proves himself, my prediction for UGA remains the same.

What is your prediction?
And correction: He was the wake starter who rejected wake for uga. Not the other way around.

They play UVA, Bama and AU in their first 6 games. I could see two loses there and who knows how that would affect the rest of the season.
Posted on 1/18/20 at 1:52 pm to Irons Puppet
UGA is not losing to UVA in ATL or Auburn in Athens.
Bama on the road, sure, probable loss.

So you are going with an auburn win over uga? In Athens? With gus?

Could happen or UVA could slip up on them to start the season. Bama is a given. They then have to play UF and an improved UT team. I would hold up hanging the banner right now.
Think about it, they usually have a very easy early schedule to work out any issues and then have the meat of their schedule. Not happening next year,
