And KCMO, I think 7 wins is the expectation too.

In my opinion, anything less than 8 wins is a bad season, but I think realistically speaking we should expect 7 as a minimum. His horrible recruiting is what bothers most. If he doesn't clean that up, he needs to go.

I've seen a lot of fans of teams who wish their admin hadn't been so quick to pull the trigger on a good coach, hoping they'd find someone better.

Pinkel was a good coach (not great) who is fizzling out. He is NOT the guy who is going to get us to the next level. I can pretty much guarantee it. Recruiting is bad, results have been declining in the past 4 years (bad losses hampered 2010 even though it was a 10 win season) and his record in bowl games as well as against GOOD teams is poor.

Have his recruiting years been as bad as BB's were at Wisconsin? You know, 3 straight Rose Bowls with 50th rated classes? Don't put too much stock in that. One down year, lets see what he does this year.

So you would rather him finish the death spiral himself? Sure, ananything can happen, but you don't base decisions out of fear. You don't. You always dare to be great. We are moving to 77,000 seats. How do you sell additional tickets on "Well we could do worse". Make moves based on moving to the next level, not worse case hypotheticals.

Pinkel has never been a great recruiter. He has lived off doing exactly what you said BB did at Wisconsin. However, his recruiting this season has been much worse than normal. I don't expect him to pull top 25 classes but I also expect better than being out-recruited by Kentucky, Ole Miss, Vandy, and Miss State (not flaming, just my opinion)

And on Henry Josey...
Josey was the #1 back in the Big 12 when he got hurt in the game against Texas in 2011. He had close to 1200 yards and was averaging 8.1 ypc in 9 games as a true sophomore. Doak Walker semi-finalist. He was very explosive and fast, with an ability to hit holes and make great cuts. Then the devastating injury.

In the spring, our OC said he was 90% of where he was before the injury and still getting better. He probably could have played late in the 2012 season, but there was no need to burn the redshirt year. So, he comes back as a RS Jr. If we can get 90% of his pre-injury production, I'd be extremely happy. I'm optimistic. But the OL is going to have to do a better job this year for that to happen.

Obviously, we don't want to change coaches. We want him to get back on track and have a fantastic season. And Alden is deliberate - he won't make any decision rashly.

Bottom line, he's our coach for this season, and I'm ready to see what he can do before talking about making a change.

I'm not a Mizzou fan, but I think 7-5 and Pinkel should stick around. Mizzou fans will have a right to get anxious and even start calling for a change if it's less than 7-5.

But I think the Tigers (well, these Tigers...and those...and especially those) are going to be a decent team this year.

I guess my point was that you don't blow a guy out that's taken your program from the depths to respectability after one bad year, you consider it after two. I see it as the exact same situation as Warren Powers/Woody Widenhofer, if we're .500 or above, I think he sticks it out. Below that and I think he's gone, for good reason.

To be honest, I'm just wondering who gets on the short list in the hopefully unlikely event we're 2-2 going into conference play. I can't think of anyone that knocks my socks off.

My prediction on what he does this year is we lose one OOC game, we lose to UGA, UF, USC, OM, A&M and lose one out of UK, UT and Vandy. That's 5-7 and he'll be gone.

Holy shite if we're 2-2 going into conference play, I nominate you or semo or stripes or mogray to finish the season out for MU because there's no way GP should be even allowed to finish the season if he loses 2 of the OOC games.

Yep. Like everyone else, I was disappointed last season and wouldn't have been upset to see a change made. (I was ready to hijack a Brinks truck, back it up to Kirby Smart and offer him my first-born child too!) Now, after we've all analyzed it to death and I have a cooler head about it, I've decided that he's our coach this season regardless, and I'll support him. And no, I'm not happy about recruiting either, but he's still our coach this season. And I won't root for my team to lose just so we could replace a coach.

We could go 5-7, we could go 8-4. Time will tell. Maybe he'll surprise us all.

It was just an example. With our luck we'll lose to Arkansas State though, I'd fly to Louisiana, find the SECr servers and burn them down.

I nominate you! Or, I'll see if my guy would do it - he played college ball.

Oh hell no. Won't root for them to lose at all. Never did understand fans that do that.

I hear ya Mizzeaux. But there is a chance of it now that I stop and think about it. @Indiana won't be a cakewalk for MU and I could see us laying an egg to Arkansas State. I showed up after losses last year in football and basketball. I will NOT show up if we lose to Indy and Arky State though.
