Seems to me when Lock came in the game, the offense put it in another gear for him. Ol seemed to block better, rbs ran harder, wr got more seperation in order to get the ball. My general feeling was they enjoyed having Lock in the game and stepped it up a notch.
I'm fully in the Lock camp.

I'm not sure if he's actually panicking or simply rolling out of the pocket to get a look down field, I kinda feel for the kid because I'd be in the exact same boat, not being tall enough to see over those giants.

Oline was bad bad bad.
you realize Abelyn took over for Boehm and didnt miss a snap, after practicing at guard for a few weeks. Take one of the best players on the team out and that unit isn't going to do as well.
Crawford also was starting for the first time on offense. If they don't look better next week I'd be concerned more than a little bit but not yet.

Yep. Lock played 3 series, I think. If those, 2 were scoring drives; a FG in the 1st half and a TD in the 2nd. He's special. But he won't start this season unless we lose games due to Mauk's play.
And the defense looked very good. They will be very strong this year. The line is very solid, and the new ends will come along as the year progresses. Odom will mix some 3-4 in with the 4-3, and the LBs are nasty, especially Brothers.

They NEVER blew anyone off the ball, all game. And their front 4 were getting pressure.
This isn't Bama or LSu, it was an average SEMo(FCS) school. U should be blowing them off the ball with your 2nd string guys.
NO excuses, the Oline with and w/o boehm was not good.

well with Boehm in Hansbrough got 7.5 yards on his lone carry.. as I recall that was running off right tackle behind Crawford, but I agree they didn't look good at all for the most part. I did notice Abeln making a few decent blocks down field, but yea they came no where near dominating the line of scrimmage the way you might expect. Lets hope its a wake up call for them to realize how much better they have to do, just to beat a team like BYU let alone a decent conference foe.

I am also in the Lock camp, but he didnt really have better blocking than Maty. He throws a td on that first drive if he isnt blown up by an unblocked linebacker.

As I've always said, Pinkel is an idiot and needs to be fired. It's clear we have a Heisman caliber QB in Lock. Lock will win us the National Championship this year, but Pinkel would rather lose and stay loyal than do whatever it takes to win.

so which Tigerboarder are you?

Looks like several SEC schools will still be looking for the starter then in the next few week. Better than the past having no backup "step in and play" and more like the SEC of a decade or so ago.

So when your coach clearly plays an inferior QB and keeps the better one on the sideline he isn't an idiot? Seems pretty cut and dry to me. You play the better player, which is Lock

Don't matter. With no OL means lock would actually win less than mauk.
Mauk can avoid pressure. Lock is more of a statue. He's like berk back in 2012. If the D gets home it's over

Oh man. Oh man.
A qb is going to win the heisman and a NC behind a terrible OL and having little to no escapabilittly.
The question remains.. Which tigerboarder are you?

Not accurate. Lock is a good athlete.

yea really can't tell if serious, or alt-trollin,, if so good work!

Seems like every time I watch some of a Missouri game, they look very mediocre. Yet somehow they end up winning the East.

I have to agree with this, other than the no escapability part. Lock isn't as nimble as Mauk, but has enough moves to avoid some pressure. You're delusional though M1zzOu if you think this team has a shot at a NC. We may prove to be top 10 caliber by the end of the year, but we are a ways from winning the whole damn thing.
We need better recruiting classes consecutively to climb that mountain.

But there is no substitute for experience, which Mauk has. And despite his Mauk-moments, the team wins with him at qb.
Give Lock time to get some experience and mature a little. He's where he needs to be for right now - getting experience, being coached up and learning. And for God's sake, any talk of NC is not just premature at this point, it's silly. Way too many question marks.
