Yea, that NC went completely unnoticed, I guess.
Kentucky was a national powerhouse for the first 2.5 decades of the SEC's existence.

That's cool Busey. Mizzou was a national power in the 1960s, guy named Dan Devine.
As for our bowl game record, that's one way to look at it. Another would be that Mizzou has 29 bowl game appearances compared to 15 for Kentucky. Auburn has 37...meaning we are closer to Auburn in number of bowl games than we are to UK.

On a more related note, the billboards really aren't a bad idea.
The ignorance of Mizzou as a football program is widespread in the Southeast. Mizzou is not national program and I guess because of that many simply didn't know anything about y'all.
I think to many people in SEC country, before this past summer, any mention of Mizzou would be greeted with a look of confusion and then maybe, "Oh, they're in the B1G right? They wear black and gold I think?". "No, Big 12."
That's not meant to be an insult, but apparently the AD felt the same way.

For the Missouri and Kentucky folks, settle it on the field, but I give Kentucky the historical edge for having Bear Bryant, before he came to his senses and went to Alabama!
Kentucky has a Orange, Sugar, and Cotton
Missouri has 2 Cotton - granted they were in the B12 - 2 Sugar, and an Orange. This may give them a slight edge there.
Who cares about the lesser bowls, or how many either team was in. This is the SEC, it is all about the big hardware!

We also have half a NC.

Admitting your ignorance is refreshing.
As is the cheeky football smack talk eminating from the Bluegrass state, which I find novel and cute. We will look for more of that when you visit CoMo later this year.

Mizzou folks need to line the state of Kansas with Mizzou SEC billboards
Some would tell you we wouldn't do it because that might put $$ into the kansas economy.
I understand what y'all are saying, we're new, we're gonna get hazed, and you think we'll really struggle (at least for a while.) We're just trying to raise awareness in the SEC and put a positive image out there. There will be lots more of it, I'm sure.

CoMo????
A local nickname for Columbia, Missouri.
For Kentucky fans, you're our homecoming game this year! Hope you'll make the trip and enjoy the traditions of the founder of college homecomings! It's a really big deal here.

Mizzou's bowl record is 13-16-0.
Auburn's bowl record is 22-13-2.

It's not just MY ignorance. It's all of the Southeast's.
Mizzou just really isn't a big time name and y'all were in a TX/OK dominated conference.
Clearly someone at Mizzou recognizes that and that's why billboards are popping up like kudzu.

If we are so irrelevant, why do you jump into every Mizzou thread to tell us how irrelevant we are?

I agree busey. I'd heard them mentioned but didn't know much about them.

I'm not saying y'all are irrelevant. Just pointing out that most in the SEC really didn't know anything about Mizzou until this past summer.

Early on it was Oklahoma and Nebraska in the old Big 8
BXII added the texas schools, so at best they were #4, but I am guessing the TAMU folks on here are gonna claim that spot.

Yep, SEC fans wanted a plethora of other schools that rarely included Mizzou.

Definitely.
I'm still confused as to WHY some wanted West Virginia :shudders:

I am just surprised since you guys follow CFB so much. I probably know something about every BCS team. But yes we need Billboards in the South to speed up the familiarity between us. I find it funny thought that those that are saying that they dont know shite about us are the same ones that say we will win 3 games next year.

Solid football and basketball programs and they know how to party.
Though, admittedly, I don't recall #morgantownpolicescanner ever trending nationally.
