We won't need help from billboards to beat Kentucky anyway.

Since when does Marketing not help your brand?

It wont help you get the top level talent away from schools like Bama, LSU, etc.

ETA: It's not really necessary to capitalize marketing.

It may help us find raw talent that was overlooked just like we did in Texas. The only way to get the top recruits is to Win at a high level and consistantly. It also helps that Mizzou has alot of recent players currently doing well in the NFL.

Is Kentucky really at the big boy table in SEC football? Honest question. You seem to get a participation trophy for being in the league, but...put it this way if Mizzou is gonna get quizzed and grilled all the time about our recruiting and commitment to championships and what not, seems that some existing SEC members are kinda sliding by without similarly 'splaining themselves.

I do give you guys props for knowing football exists and actually talking about it and going to games though. That alone puts you worlds apart from kansas jayhawk fans.

You're not understanding.

The SEC IS the big boy table. Just be glad to be here.

Busey I get what you are saying, but quite honestly, I hope our coaches, players, fans and alums aren't just happy to be here. I won't be. We've gotten used to 9 to 10 win seasons and being in the Top 25 over the past several years and although I know it's gonna be a tougher schedule now, I don't think any of us are gonna be just happy to be here if we start going 6-6 and playing in the Liberty Bowl every single year.

Yes. They're founding members of our lovely conference.

We can do that to y'all and TAMU. Hell we still do it to Arky and USCe. They were the new kids on the block and y'all replaced them. DWI

SEC football is in it's own class. Welcome aboard!

There is one near downtown Dallas on I-35

Apparently A&M will do something similar but not until our "official" entry in July.

Mizzou folks need to line the state of Kansas with Mizzou SEC billboards

We're a founding member of the SEC. You know, we've been in it since the beginning. Technically, you're not one of us yet.

Respect your elders, little boy.

Once UGA and UF get back up to speed this is exactly what will happen.

You will have eight win seasons rarely, just like UK.

That said, this upcoming season will probably the best season y'all have in a LONG time so you better make it count.

Umm, OK, we were a founding member of what became the Big 12. All the way back as long as UK's time with the SEC goes. We were one of the original Missouri Valley Conference teams in the 1800s, which became the Big Six then Big Seven then Big Eight then Big 12.

I get the play-acting as frat guys hazing pledges and so forth, but at the same time it's sort of funny cuz its not like Mizzou and A&M just started playing football 10 years ago or something. And it's also not as if the SEC was *always* the superior league to the Big Eight, Missouri Valley or Big 12 through all those 100 years either. Some teams like Nebraska and Oklahoma and what not had some decent teams over the last century you may have heard about too. Heck I was just earlier today reading an online list of past big Mizzoou wins and it included Mizzou wins over Bear Bryant's Alabama team in '68 and the Steve Spurrier quarterbacked Florida team in the '65 Sugar Bowl and what not.

So honestly no, Kentucky and Vandy being founding members of the SEC doesn't register for me much more than Iowa State and kansas having been founding members of the Big 12 did. Just being honest. Now back to my regularly scheduled pledge training. Thank you sir may I have another!

But you're still Mizzou.

I don't think anyone in the SEC even knew y'all existed until you joined the league.

What?
LINK
Mizzou has finished ranked in the Top 25 three times in the last six years.

Since 1980 Mizzou has finished in the Top 25 six times.

Mizzou's bowl record is 13-16-0 and y'all have lost 2 out of the last three.

Biggest issue is exposure. TAMU already has long ties with LSU and Arkansas. Missouri has no real exposure with any SEC school. I will hold my comments till after the first year on where Mizzurah stands as it may be an adjustment going from the BXII offense to the SEC defense. Sure, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State may be at the bottom, but expecting them to be another Kansas may be a rude awakening. Even in bad years the Commodores still seem to keep games closer than you think they will. At least you get Kentucky @ Columbia, but even that game is not a win till after the final play.

You could win all but Alabama, or you could lose them all. Looking forward to seeing how you do.

Well, seeing as nobody in the league has noticed Kentucky football from 1932 onward I guess you guys can coach us on how to handle this newfound obscurity.

Exactly. There are no Kansas and Iowa State's in the league anymore. Mizzou is now near the bottom of the conference.
