That sounds about right... since Slay hasn't been added to the list yet.

Bumphis is a fringe pick as well that is right on the edge of being drafted. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if Broomfield and Bump sign as free agents.

Starting to really worry about Gabe Jackson's probability of leaving early, since he has been shooting up that particular draft board almost every week.

OG, second team ALL-SEC last year I think.

Rated above everyone on the State roster but Banks.

I'd like to do a comparison of State vs. Tenn on statistics. I'll do some important individual ones comparing the best player of each team in each position and it's rank in the SEC. I'll also do some Team stats.

QB (based on QB rating)
1.Tyler Bray 147.7 ranked 5th in SEC. 14 TDs, 6 Int. Lots of yards but also lots of attempts.
2. Russell 141.1 ranked 7th in SEC 10 TDs, 1 int. 1082 yds. 500 less than Bray but also 50 less attempts.

Rushing

Perkins 4th in SEC in rushing.

Neal 8th in SEC

Receiving

Hunter 3rd in SEC. 33 receptions for 456 yds, 13.8 yd avg.

Bumphis 6th in SEC 21 receptions for 375 yds, 17.9 yd avg.

Defense.

Sack Leaders Preston Smith (MSU) 12th in SEC

Sentimore 27th in SEC (tenn).

Interceptions.

Darius Slay 1st(T) in SEC. 4 int. (MSU)

Jonathan Banks 3rd in SEC, 3 int. (MSU)

Byron Moore, 1st(T) in SEC 4 int.

Interception yards

Byron Moore, Tenn. With 88 yds. 2nd in SEC.

Darius Slay, 3rd in SEC with 86 yds. (MSU)

Banks 4th in SEC with 78 yds. (MSU)

Whitley 5th in SEC with 66 yds. (MSU)

Team Statistics.

Tennessee 4th in Total Offense. 2533 yds. 39.4 ppg.
MSU 9th in Total Offense 2023 yds. 34.2 ppg.

Interesting note, LSU Florida, Alabama are also in the bottom half of Total offense. Defense wins in the SEC if you have a competent offense. The disparity between 4 and 10 isn't much.

Defense.

MSU is 11th in nation in points allowed at 13.2 ppg.

Tenn is 86th in the nation in points allowed at 29.6 ppg.

My conclusion.. Tennessee has the edge on offense due to a better passing game, but the disparity on offense of the 2 teams is much less than the disparity on defense. MSU has a far better defense and the strength is secondary which matches up well to Tennessee. This will be the reason MSU wins the game, along with the fact our offense uses long drives and eats up clock, while ya'lls is pass oriented and relies on the big play. We will control time of possession and keep your offense off the field, allowing our defense to get enough stops to win the game.

Plays for Tennessee. 4 int's make him 1st in the SEC.

That was a typo I didn't mean to put that there. Was in a hurry and my brain got ahead of me. I'll edit... he is tied for 1st with Slay.

I messed up on 1 stat. STFU

And to answer your question, yes I follow football and know a lot more about it that you do I bet. I watch every single SEC game every weekend. IF I'm at the MSU game I record the others and watch them at least twice.

How were they biased? I listed every statistical individual stat, with the first MSU/Tenn player to pop up in the rankings (best player at each position). I showed areas where Tenn is better, and where MSU is better. It's not biased. I showed the extra MSU secondary players to prove how we have more than 1 good player in that area b/c they were close to the other 2 statistically.

I covered the total offense, and defense ppg. I couldn't locate a total defense ranking, so I used ppg b/c that's most important anyways.

Absolutely not biased.

If you're going to put stats in, put them in and not your 2 cents

No I do it because I enjoy watching it and like to inform myself on each teams tendencies before discussing sports instead of being a bumbling idiot like most of the people on this board. Nothing I said has been homerish, I think it'll be a close game but State wins because we have a far better defense and our offense, while not as good as Tennessee's, is close enough and good enough to win. Plus we play at home.

And I backed up my claim with the stats to prove it. It's not that hard to comprehend. Sure we can lose the game, I'm not guaranteeing we win, but simply stating why we should win and why I think we will.
