I just saw where Carl Torbush is Dan Mullen's DC. He previously had stops with Franchione at Alabama and Texas A&M. The A&M defense faltered badly his last 2 seasons there.

I'm trying to think of some washed up SEC retreads that ended up at State and these names come to mind.

Lynn Amedee--ex LSU OC. A complete disaster during his time at LSU
Morris Watts--ex LSU OC. Came to MSU as OC after Michigan St. head coach Bobby Williams was fired.

I doubt Mullen will be able to get anything started.

Anything above 8-5 would really surprise me.

if yall dont win 9 games next year its a pretty big failure imo.

yall have a easy ooc to give you 4 wins and then the big sec games for you are at home. also no uf or uga

Ole Miss lost to Memphis in 2003, they can find ways to lose. And before anyone else post yes we too have blown games we should've won in the past.

i know ole miss loves a good choke job but next year if they can't make it to atlanta they should just pack it in forever or until the next manning comes around

Cooper's children could make an impact.

I thought the end of the Croom era would also end Miss. State's apparent need to have at least one-third of their staff comprised of former Alabama assistants/players. But it looks like more of the same under Mullen.

Carl Torbush, Alabama DC 2001-2002
Les Koenning, Alabama OC 2001-2002
Melvin Smith, Alabama Safties 2002
David Turner, Alabama DEs 2006
Ben Pollard, Alabama Strength Coach 2001-2003

While I agree that MSU has a lovefest for Alabamas coaches its damn near impossible to find someone that hasnt been fired from Bama. On top of that, the SEC is deep in coaching incest.
