Eli was on the hot seat after 2022 and Mizzou has been much much better since he hired an actual OC to call plays. Huh. Imagine that.
That is only part of the solution. NIL and the transfer portal rule change also made the difference.

In the last 2 completed seasons, Mizzou's best wins are:
11-2 OSU in 2023
9-4 Tennessee in 2023
And that's it for teams who finished the season ranked.
Missouri has played very weak OOC's and lost to most of the ranked in conference teams they played (Tenn in 2023). OSU in a bowl (where they may not have been motivated as they wanted in the playoff) is their only ranked OOC game in the regular or post season.
None of their wins this year are against a ranked opponent.
Missouri at 20 is about right given this year's results and the prior couple of seasons.

Both teams had two players out. Their best player, and our best player sat out.

How'd that work out for Bama and Clemson this year? Sorry you're too stupid too realize the risk isn't worth the reward.
The truth is a lot of schools play one tough OOC opponent. Our isn't tough but means more to us by playing kansASS. Also, when we switched conferences the schedules were a mess and our OOC opponents were a little harder to get games with b/c normally the games are set years in advance.
Who did LSU play this year OOC that was so tought? lol Clemson the paper tiger?
kansASS would beat clemson let's be honest.

Sucks we played South Carolina just one week too late
Guess what dumb dumb.......LSU doesn't have a win against a ranked opponent either and no you don't get to count clemson. Then you barely beat FL with 5 interceptions.
In fact, I would say Mizzou has had a harder schedule this year than LSU wouldn't you?
kansASS > clemson
South Carolina > FL
Now go get your f'in shine box!

Sorry I thought you were a LSU fan.
Jawja's OOC this year is better than Mizzou's?
Ga Tech may be a hair better than kanASS.....maybe. But the ONLY reason Ga Tech is even ranked is b/c they beat clemson
Think about this... if Syracuse played clemson a week earlier f'in Syracuse would be ranked!!!
Jawja's bit time OOC opponent is Ga Tech? WTF is wrong with you
