The new ESPN article nails it. Richt won a lot of games, but very few big games.
Consistently beating the bottom 8 teams on your schedule every year means almost nothing when you go 1-3 or 0-4 against the top 4.
Richt has won almost 0 big, meaningful games in about 8 years. In fact, getting blown out in their big, meanigful games has become common.
That's why he's out, despite the good overall W-L record.

Except Miles also beats the likes of Oregon, West VA, VA tech, UNC, Wisconsin and usually wins most of his SEC games
