Why don’t we talk about Jimbo Fisher. You think he is a better coach than Mike Leach?
Posted on 9/29/20 at 11:39 am to Hailstate15
Obviously he must be better. He has a national championship after all.
That's why the great Kellen Mond and the fighting Aggies had a colossal 5 point win over Vanderbilt at home.

Based on his head coaching record, recruiting record, conference championships, BCS playoff appearances, national titles, and almost any other metric you could possibly imagine . . .I would say yes.
He may belly-flop in College Station but Jimbo's career has been substance while Leach's career has been a fun-to-watch diversion that ultimately has added up to nothing of any significance.
But hey, he has the Moo State crowd fired up!

Moo State is a back up option to Ole Miss which is the last resort for most kids that can't get into any of the Texas state schools.
MOOOOO!!!!!!! MOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I recall them saying it would help Leach spring some upsets here and there but wasn't a sustainable way to win consistently.
None of that has been proven false.

Man, it's going to be fun watching Leach crush TAMU again.

Yet we just beat you out for a 4* DB AND a 4* WR (the fastest player in the state of texas) not to mention the 4* QB

I highly doubt Jimbo or his staff was ever looking at Sawyer Robertson. Judging from how Mond played on Saturday, Robertson is pretty much the exact opposite of what Jimbo is looking for in a quarterback for his system.

When is the last time LSU was a 2-3 win team? Nobody believes this is the case.

???? We were never in the recruitment for Knox or Robertson. We are rammed to the gills with higher rated prospects than either of those guys and never had any real contact with either.
MJ Daniels was a last conversation for us but he is a 3 star . . not a 4 star.
Now asked yourself who was the best player in Mississippi high school ball was last year and where he went to school?
I can answer it for you if needed.

Because Mississippi doesn’t have Rivals.

Was never targeted under Moordummy. You can talk to Ole Miss bout that one

Were you rammed to the gills with players in previous years?
Or are y'all just starting a total turd at QB for the hell of it? Hell, I hear y'all have an amazing receiver but he didn't even touch the field.

Yeah, Mond has been a head-scratching letdown. Haynes King and Eli Stowers are equivalent prospects in my mind. It is more of a scheme thing rather than any lack of respect for Robertson's talent.
Robertson is going to do great wherever he lands . . . Moo State or elsewhere. He is more of a pure pro-style recruit and Jimbo emphasizes dual threats.

True - it has a much easier division.
Recruiting in the SEC is way better than Tech.
quote:
Since 2000, Mississippi State's average ranking is 31; Tech's is 44.5. Not much difference really at those tiers (not like comparing 1st to 14th)
Wrong. You are comparing different decades as if they were in the same time frame. To get better "feel" for it...
2000-2008(was fired in 2009) average class was 47. You don't get to add classes that Leach is not there recruiting... good for averages or not.
Now we move to recent MSU. This is where you are flawed... From what Mullen built, it continues.
So from his first class to now, they rank and average of 26. with 2 top 20 class.
That's a massive difference in quality players.
quote:
Neither is Mississippi State. Tech to State is NOT the same as Vandy to Bama. Not even in the same galaxy.
Sure it is.

The one that gave up 34 points and over 400 yards to what may be the second worst offense in the SEC West (no offense LSU fans, but Brennan looked lost - he might turn things around, but still).
Yeah, that's wrong too. They did not give up 34. A pick 6 resulted in 7 points. So 27.
He was lost because the 3-3-5. You will learn soon enough.

Not true either. Time of Possession went to MSU vs LSU.
MSU nor Leach has rarely gone fast.
