"Mike Leach's air raid will not work in the SEC", said the Talking Heads

Mike Leach's Air Raid- In it's SEC debut, the QB throws for 632 yards, breaking the SEC single game passing record by almost 100 yards against the defending National Champions and "DBU", LSU.
The scheme doesn't work, it steam rolls. This is just the beginning, the Pirate has only stepped one foot ashore and he is here to pillage, conquer and destroy.
So cover and protect your booty, because the Pirate and his crew are coming in fast and hard.
SEC fricked.

What if LSU was just really overrated and 2-3 win team this year?

LSU is soft. Leach’s system isn’t sustainable in this conference.

Not sure what you’re laughing about. Both statements are fact.

There still a loaded roster full of talent, They still win 6 at a minimum.

You do realize mike leach has coached in the SEC before?

Air Raid entered the SEC in the 90s.

you are a fricking dumb arse bro. Leach’s system can and will work in the SEC.

It worked at Kentucky too. Which make these talking heads even more dense for saying it would never work

Leach has never had SEC talent and he will flourish with even lower SEC talent same with Drinkwitz at Mizzou ..I like all the new coaches in the SEC we've had some dogs lately...on that note watch Bama run it up on Kiffin in week 3...

Did you forget they used it at Kentucky ?

May be a little early yet... I am surprised at how quick he got it to come together.

I'd tap the brakes. It's one game. And if memory serves me correctly, the Air Raid at UK went 0 for X against Florida and Tennessee in the Mumme era. So yes, it was light years beyond the Bill Curry days, but let's not pretend they won the East.

Not to mention Peterson figured this out immediately. There are smarter DCs in the the SEC than what’s currently at LSU.

It's OK, respect is earned, not given. One game is just that, one game. We will have plenty of chances to earn that respect. I do know one thing, the Air Raid works in the SEC, we will just have to prove it a couple more times before idiots like this guy and certain talking heads will buy in.
It's funny how the talking point went from "LSU defense is too fast and athletic for the air raid to work", to "LSU's defense is slow and terrible, the air raid is still not good enough to have sustained success against real SEC defenses".
In time, all the doubters will be walking the plank.

they set sec records with far less talent than state is getting now and that’s what people aren’t understanding. He was recruiting in the 50s at Wazzu. He can recruit inside the top 25 in Starkville easily.

He was a 8-4 coach at best outside of a outlier year at WSU, translates to 6-6 most years in SEC

they had more 5 star corners than we have 5 stars on our roster. To say it wont work and call LSU bad is laughable.

Hal Mumme maxed out at 7 wins and one winning season with that offense. I wouldn’t call a 20-26 record over 4 seasons “working”
